Brittany Cartwright<\/strong><\/a> exclusively reflects on the \u201cbullcrap\u201d she dealt with during her marriage to estranged husband Jax Taylor<\/strong><\/a> with Life & Style<\/em> \u2013 and shares an update on her dating life.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m very much single. I think it\u2019s fun to date around. I\u2019m not gonna say I haven\u2019t dated around. But, you know, I\u2019m just having fun right now,\u201d Brittany, 36, who announced her separation from Jax<\/a>, 45, in February 2024, reveals. \u201cI\u2019m not like in a relationship or anything like that. I don\u2019t think I\u2019m ready for that for a while. I still have a lot of things to work on with myself from this marriage that I have been in. In the filing, Brittany requested primary and legal custody of their three-year-old son, Cruz Taylor.<\/p>\n That said, Brittany wants Jax to maintain his relationship with their son and previously told Life & Style<\/em> how her ex is as a father.<\/p>\n \u201c[Jax] is a great father<\/a>. He\u2019s just a terrible husband, so I\u2019d never want to take Cruz away from him or anything like that. I still always, no matter what, want him to be in his life,\u201d Brittany said at the time. \u201cBut we\u2019re trying and trying and trying and trying to get better every single day, but if I needed something, Jax would be there for me, and he would be there for Cruz in a heartbeat.\u201d<\/p>\n Amid her healing journey, Brittany is also determined to gain her confidence back following her fabulous weight loss transformation.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I had Cruz, I had such a hard time getting my shape back.
