After the end of the BBC\u2019s Peaky Blinders<\/em> in 2022, fans still wanted more.<\/p>\n

In June 2024, Netflix confirmed<\/a> that a Peaky Blinders<\/em> movie would be happening with Cillian Murphy<\/strong><\/a> reprising his role as Tommy Shelby.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt seems like Tommy Shelby wasn\u2019t finished with me \u2026\u201d Murphy shared in a statement at the time. \u201cIt is very gratifying to be collaborating with Steven Knight<\/strong> and Tom Harper<\/strong> on the film version of Peaky Blinders.<\/em> This is one for the fans.\u201d<\/p>\n

While further details about the film are scarce, it will be produced in association with BBC Film. Knight, who created the series, is writing the script, while Harper will direct (as he did in the first season).<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I first directed Peaky Blinders<\/em> over 10 years ago, we didn\u2019t know what the series would become, but we did know that there was something in the alchemy of the cast and the writing that felt explosive,\u201d Harper told Netflix in June 2024. \u201cPeaky has always been a story about family \u2014 and so it\u2019s incredibly exciting to be reuniting with Steve and Cillian to bring the movie to audiences across the world on Netflix.\u201d<\/p>\n

The original Peaky Blinders<\/em> series, which ran from 2013 to 2022, followed the exploits of the Peaky Blinders crime gang in the direct aftermath of World War I. The show starred Murphy, Paul Anderson, Sophie Rundle, Joe Cole<\/strong> and the late Helen McCrory.<\/strong><\/p>\n
