Blake Lively<\/strong><\/a> and Justin Baldoni<\/strong><\/a> are not interested in a court mediation program.<\/p>\n

The legal teams representing each actor filed a joint letter to New York federal judge Lewis J. Liman<\/strong>, saying that they \u201cagreed that settlement discussions would be premature\u201d during a conference on January 30, according to Page Six<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Both parties also agreed that mediation and discovery protocols would be \u201cinappropriate for this case.\u201d Discovery protocols are used in employment-related cases to make the exchange of information between both parties more efficient and relevant to the case.<\/p>\n

The letter noted that Lively, 37, plans to file an \u201camended complaint imminently,\u201d per the outlet, and that both sides plan to file motions requesting the judge dismiss the other side\u2019s claims.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tBlake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are seeking to dismiss Justin Baldoni\u2019s defamation lawsuit. Lively, 37, and Reynolds, 48, told a federal judge on Thursday, January 30, that they will move to dismiss the legal action filed against them by the It Ends With Us director, 40, Variety reported the same day. Per Variety, each side\u2019s [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to Page Six<\/em>, Liman granted the motion for exemption from both mediation and discovery protocols on Thursday, and requested both sides prepare for trial to begin on March 9, 2026.<\/p>\n

Their legal dispute stems from Lively and Baldoni\u2019s 2024 romantic drama, It Ends With Us<\/em>, which Baldoni also directed. Lively filed a lawsuit in December 2024 against Baldoni, 41, claiming sexual harassment emotional distress and more. Baldoni denied the allegations and filed a defamation suit for $400 million against Lively, her husband, Ryan Reynolds<\/strong>, and her publicist Leslie Sloane<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Earlier on Friday, Us Weekly<\/em> confirmed that Lively\u2019s team had subpoenaed the phone records<\/a> of Baldoni as well as film producer Jamey Heath<\/strong> and Wayfarer Studios\u2019 Steve Sarowitz<\/strong> in an attempt to find evidence of a smear campaign against the actress.<\/p>\n

Baldoni\u2019s lawyers have called Lively\u2019s accusations \u201ccompletely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis lawsuit is a legal action based on an overwhelming amount of untampered evidence detailing Blake Lively and her team\u2019s duplicitous attempt to destroy Justin Baldoni, his team and their respective companies by disseminating grossly edited, unsubstantiated, new and doctored information to the media,\u201d Baldoni\u2019s lawyer, Bryan Freedman<\/strong> said in a statement<\/a> to Us<\/em>.<\/p>\n
