Teddi Mellencamp<\/strong><\/a> and Edwin Arroyave<\/strong><\/a> were married for 13 years before they separated.<\/p>\n

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills <\/i>alum, who is one of the children of singer John Mellencamp<\/strong>, first met Arroyave in a Hollywood nightclub in 2009.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was tricked a little bit because when I first saw Edwin, he had a beanie cap on,\u201d Teddi recalled to Yahoo! Lifestyle<\/a> in 2019. \u201cAnd then when I saw him the next morning, the beanie was off and there was a ponytail hanging out the back. I thought after that night that that was just one of those [stories] that you tell your girlfriends, \u2018Maybe I\u2019ll hang out with him one more time.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Teddi continued hanging out with Arroyave for two years before they wed in her native Indiana. The pair later welcomed daughters Slate and Dove, as well as son Cruz. (Arroyave is also father to eldest daughter Isabella, from a previous relationship.)<\/p>\n

After 13 years of marriage and Arroyave supporting Teddi amid her recurring skin cancer battle, they went their separate ways<\/a>. In divorce docs obtained by Us Weekly<\/em>, Teddi revealed her and Arroyave\u2019s date of separation<\/a> was October 20, 2024<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTeddi Mellencamp may hold a diamond on TV, but her husband and kids are the real gems in her life. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and husband Edwin Arroyave are parents of daughter Slate and son Cruz. The Skyline Security Management founder is also the father of daughter Isabella from a previous relationship. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cAfter a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,\u201d Teddi wrote via Instagram in November 2024<\/a>. \u201cMy priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and wellbeing throughout this new chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the pair met in a nightclub, Teddi was certain it would end up as a one-time fling.<\/p>\n

July 2011<\/b><\/h3>\n

They got married two years later in a romantic ceremony in Indiana.<\/p>\n

October 2012<\/b><\/h3>\n

Teddi and Arroyave\u2019s first child together, daughter Slate, arrived one year after their wedding.<\/p>\n

August 2014<\/b><\/h3>\n

Slate became a big sister in 2014 when the couple welcomed son Cruz. Due to a heart condition, Cruz spent time in a hospital NICU.<\/p>\n

December 2017<\/b><\/h3>\n

Teddi received a RHOBH <\/i>diamond during season 8 of the Bravo hit, which caused issues in her marriage.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we first started, I remember my first day honestly it was like \u2018F\u2014, at what point do I tell everybody that I\u2019m getting a divorce? Like when do I do this?\u2019\u201d Teddi recalled during a March 2023 episode<\/a> of her \u201cTwo Ts in a Pod\u201d podcast. \u201cWe are at our worst absolute phase, because truthfully, for us, it was really about a power struggle.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cWe were always kind of equals when we were together. I rode horses, I was competitive and I was all these things. Then I couldn\u2019t get pregnant naturally, I did all these IVFs. Then, all of a sudden, he was in charge of our finances, and I had never been that. I never not had my own money, I had been working since I was 17. Then I just started hating him.\u201d<\/p>\n

She was ultimately let go by Bravo after season 10, but occasionally made guest appearances as a \u201cfriend.\u201d<\/p>\n

Us Weekly <\/i>broke the news<\/a> in September 2019 that Teddi was pregnant again after undergoing IVF. Daughter Dove arrived on February 25,<\/a> shortly before being diagnosed with lambdoid craniosynostosis that required neurosurgery.<\/p>\n

July 2023<\/b><\/h3>\n

Through the years, Teddi and Arroyave shared candid updates on their family and relationship via social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen was the last time you really told your significant other exactly what you want and need? I often times don\u2019t and then let things build up and fester,\u201d Teddi wrote via Instagram<\/a> in July. \u201cI mean aren\u2019t our people mind readers? Can\u2019t they tell what my heavy annoyed breathing means? The answer is no.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI tried out being 100 percent direct with @tedwinator yesterday for my birthday and guess what \u2014 it worked like a charm. I said:\u2019 You can work until 11 a.m. while I take the kids riding. After we get back I want a date of my favorite things.\u2019 \u2026 Long story short: Marriage isn\u2019t easy and we all have high highs and low lows but if we are vulnerable and open up, it can lead to one of the best days you have had in a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n

October 2024<\/b><\/h3>\n

Teddi was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2022, later chairing a Cure Melanoma gala to raise awareness and funds.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always say life and pain are inseparable and to see @teddimellencamp embrace her pain and use it for the greater good again last night as she emceed the @curemelanoma gala, was a beautiful reminder of what she is capable of,\u201d Arroyave wrote via Instagram<\/a> on October 25. \u201cHer story has already saved lives. And I couldn\u2019t be prouder that she will continue to save more. Love you, Teds.\u201d<\/p>\n

November 2024<\/b><\/h3>\n

Exactly one week after Arroyave\u2019s praise-filled social media tribute, Teddi confirmed her intentions<\/a> to file for divorce.<\/p>\n

Teddi wrote via Instagram, \u201cMaking a public statement is not something I wanted to do, but in an effort to protect my family from undue speculation and rumors, I felt being open, honest and vulnerable was the best path forward.\u201d<\/p>\n
