Travis Kelce<\/strong><\/a> is still processing the Kansas City Chiefs\u2019 big loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.<\/p>\n

During the Wednesday, February 12, episode of his and Jason Kelce<\/strong>\u2018s \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast, Travis, 35, broke down what went wrong on the field<\/a> during Super Bowl LIX, which took place Sunday, February 9, in New Orleans.<\/p>\n

\u201cOutside of the game I just wanted to thank my teammates for everything they f\u2014ing do man, you know. the effort the focus the work that we put in \u2014 that wasn\u2019t the reason,\u201d he said. \u201cGoing into the game I felt as confident as I ever felt going into a Super Bowl or a playoff game or a big game in my life \u2026 It just wasn\u2019t our day. Couldn\u2019t find a lick of momentum.\u201d<\/p>\n

He reflected on his own role in the loss, adding, \u201cI\u2019m kicking myself for some of the tiny, tiny decisions I made on the field trying to do something more than what I was asked to do \u2026 I wasn\u2019t the best leader that I could be in motivating my guys, in keeping my guys calm, cool and collected. I put a lot of that on myself as the guy that\u2019s been in the building for 12 years and seen a lot of football and actually seen a situation just like this in a Super Bowl \u2026 It\u2019s a tough pill to swallow, man.\u201d<\/p>\n

A somber Kelce, 35, spoke to reporters in the Chiefs\u2019 locker room following the Sunday, February 9, game at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, admitting that the Philadelphia Eagles were the better team. \u201cHats off to the Eagles, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Travis explained that \u201cevery time\u201d the Chiefs felt like they \u201cgot something going\u201d on the field, the play would take a turn. \u201cTo have it happen for the second time in my career on the biggest stage, man, it\u2019s a tough pill to swallow. It\u2019s a hard reality. \u2026 This sport can humble you quite fast.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Chiefs had the opportunity to secure their third consecutive Super Bowl title<\/a>, but the Eagles dominated the majority of Sunday\u2019s game, keeping the Chiefs off the scoreboard until the third quarter. The Eagles ultimately won 40-22, earning redemption for their 2023 Super Bowl loss against the Chiefs.<\/p>\n

Travis only had four catches for 39 yards, and he spoke candidly about his team\u2019s lackluster performance during a post-game interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cHats off to the Eagles, man. They got after us. All three phases,\u201d he said. \u201c[We] couldn\u2019t get it going offensively. They just got after us on all three phases, and on top of that, turnovers, penalties, playing behind the sticks on offense \u2026 dropped passes, not taking advantage of the play call and executing them. There\u2019s a lot that goes into it. You don\u2019t lose like that without everything going bad. \u2026 [We] just couldn\u2019t find that spark, couldn\u2019t find that momentum.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the loss, Travis said the Chiefs are \u201calways gonna fight\u201d for their next win. He went on to reveal the message head coach Andy Reid<\/strong><\/a> shared with the team after the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis one\u2019s gonna hurt,\u201d he said. \u201cLet it hurt and figure out how to get better because of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jason, meanwhile, expressed his support for Travis in a lengthy social media message on Tuesday, February 11.<\/p>\n

\u201cCongratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles, my former teammates, and friends on being SB LIX Champions!!\u201d he wrote. \u201cThat game was odd for me to watch if I\u2019m being completely honest. I knew it was going to be mixed emotions before, during, and after, and I now know what my parents had to deal with two years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJason Kelce is celebrating a bittersweet Super Bowl victory for his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles. The 37-year-old was at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday, February 9, when the Eagles defeated his brother, Travis Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22. Following the big game, Jason said in a lengthy X post [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Jason, who retired from the NFL last year after 13 seasons with the Eagles, noted that he was \u201cvery proud\u201d of his former teammates and coaches, including Jalen Hurts<\/strong> and Nick Sirianni<\/strong>. \u201cThey have persevered greatly, answered their critics amazingly, and proved themselves to be undoubtedly the best team this season. \u2026 A true representation of the toughness and grit that makes Philadelphia what it is. Well done fellas, well f\u2014ing done,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

While he was thrilled for the city of Philadelphia, Jason also expressed that \u201cthere isn\u2019t a person I love or care about more\u201d than his brother.<\/p>\n
