A fan-favorite couple from 9-1-1<\/em><\/a> nearly got their own spinoff \u2014 but which one was it?<\/p>\n

9-1-1: Lone Star<\/em> producer Rashad Raisani<\/strong> revealed the news during an interview with TV Insider<\/em><\/a> on Wednesday, February 5, saying, \u201cWe had talked about T.K. [Ronen Rubinstein<\/strong>] and Carlos [Rafael Silva<\/strong>] maybe moving to a new city and starting a new life together somewhere else in Texas to set up a possible spinoff.\u201d<\/p>\n

The characters would have continued their journey<\/a> after 9-1-1: Lone Star<\/em>\u2018s series finale, which aired on Monday, February 3. The plans have since changed, but it remains to be seen which state \u2014 and characters \u2014 the potential spinoff will revolve around if it\u2019s picked up by ABC.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that it will have a different tone,\u201d Raisani teased. \u201cIt will still hopefully feel like our DNA, but in the same way that Lone Star was different than 9-1-1 and had its own feel, I think that if we can get this right, this will have its own feel.\u201d<\/p>\n

Raisani didn\u2019t rule out cameos, adding, \u201cI don\u2019t see why not. I would love it. What I can say is all will be told soon, and there\u2019s a man named [cocreator] Ryan Murphy<\/strong> who is the first one who I think will speak on that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 9-1-1<\/em> universe originated with a show about the professional and personal lives of Los Angeles first responders. It premiered on Fox in 2018 and starred Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Oliver Stark, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryan Guzman <\/strong>and Kenneth Choi<\/strong>. Fox canceled the series in 2023, which allowed ABC to swoop in and renew the show for a seventh season.<\/p>\n

9-1-1<\/em> has continued to find success<\/a> on its new network, but first spinoff 9-1-1: Lone Star<\/em> hasn\u2019t had the same luck. Lone Star<\/em> followed a New York firefighter (played by Rob Lowe<\/strong>) who relocated to Texas while trying to balance his job alongside his personal issues. Rubinstein, Silva, Sierra McClain, Jim Parrack, Natacha Karam, Brian Michael Smith, Julian Works <\/strong>and Gina Torres<\/strong> made up the rest of the cast.<\/p>\n
