He had been her \u201cchildhood crush,\u201d complete with a poster on her wall. \u201cI have loved him since I was 10,\u201d Cassidy gushed. \u201cI think we were meant to meet.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DBeJEmQp2sN\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:540px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\"\/>\n<p>Some speculated about where Kate Cassidy and Liam Payne\u2019s relationship stood at the time of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2024\/10\/liam-payne-two-women-hotel-room\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">his tragic death<\/a> last autumn.<\/p>\n<p>However, Cassidy emphasized that their romance was both genuine and loving. Additionally, she had observed him to be \u201cin a good head space\u201d ahead of his passing.<\/p>\n<p>Cassidy had flown back to Florida just days ahead of Payne\u2019s fatal fall from the hotel in Argentina. Their plan had been to stay for one week, but their vacation had extended to two weeks. When that happened, she recalled, she \u201cblacked out.\u201d And struggled to believe it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought it was just a rumor or some made up thing that somebody made up just to get views online,\u201d she admitted. \u201cInstantly, I had a bad feeling in my gut.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cassidy went on to try to call Payne \u2014 and others \u2014 desperate to debunk the claim that he had died.
