Personal battle. Netflix viewers watched as <\/span>Love Is Blind <\/span><\/i><\/a>season 2 star Danielle Ruhl<\/strong> missed out on the \u201ccouples\u2019 party\u201d due to an apparent stomach bug followed by a \u201cfull-blown panic attack.\u201d However, she\u2019s now claiming that wasn\u2019t actually the case as she opened up about experiencing \u201csuicidal ideations\u201d while filming in Mexico.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Danielle, 30, took to TikTok on Thursday, April 20, to discuss the trauma she experienced while filming<\/a> her season of the dating experiment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cNick<\/strong> [Thompson<\/strong>] and I were about to head out to the couples\u2019 party, but [at the] last second they said that I couldn\u2019t go because they thought I had COVID, which was weird to us because we had been together 24\/7,\u201d she said in the video. \u201cI had a full-blown panic attack and went into the closet because I was scared that there were hidden cameras.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n She added that after Nick \u2013 whom she got engaged to and later married<\/a> on the show \u2013 returned from the event, he realized that she \u201cwas alone the entire time\u201d despite asking producers to have someone she trusted stay with her.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI then told them that I tried committing suicide in the past, that I wasn\u2019t trusting myself, that I was having suicidal ideations and that I had to go home,\u201d she continued, adding that the $50,000 fine for leaving<\/a> was \u201cconstantly in the back of [her] head.\u201d \u201cRight after I said that everyone from production, the crew, ran over to try to persuade us to stay. But no therapist.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Prior to being cast on the Netflix series, Danielle claimed that contestants undergo a \u201c30-minute screening with the psychologist,\u201d where she admitted her past struggles and prior suicide attempts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cLooking back, I probably shouldn\u2019t have agreed to go on the show, and I really wish I was more educated and self-aware at the time,\u201d she said. \u201cI also did trust that the psychologist would not choose people that they did not deem mentally fit.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Despite her season having been filmed nearly two years ago, the Chicago resident said she\u2019s \u201cstill trying to re-find\u201d herself.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI did decide to take a leave of absence from work to attend an outpatient trauma therapy, but, I mean, I\u2019m still struggling,\u201d she added.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n As for Kinetic Content, the production company behind the hit reality series, they told <\/span>The Hollywood Reporter <\/span><\/i>in a statement on April 18 that, \u201cThe wellbeing of our participants is of paramount importance to Kinetic.
