The Real Housewives of the Potomac<\/em> star Gizelle Bryant<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about Karen Huger<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s DUI conviction and the possibility she could serve jail time.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s sad. It really is sad,\u201d Bryant, 54, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> on Wednesday, January 29. \u201cI mean, do I want to see her go to jail? Absolutely not. But do I want to see her take accountability? For sure. So, I don\u2019t know. I mean, Karen going to jail, that would break my heart. So we\u2019ll see.\u201d<\/p>\n

In December 2024, Huger, 61, was found guilty of driving under the influence after she was involved in a March car crash in Maryland. Additionally, she was found guilty of failure to control speed to avoid a collision, negligent driving and failure to notify authorities of an address change. She was acquitted of reckless driving.<\/p>\n

Huger\u2019s sentencing hearing was initially scheduled for January 29, but has since been postponed. She is now scheduled to receive her sentencing on Wednesday, February 26. She could face up to two years in prison.<\/p>\n

In early January, on the day the RHOP<\/em> cast filmed their reunion, Huger announced via her rep that she had entered rehab.<\/p>\n

\u201cKaren made the important decision to enter a private recovery program, so was unable to attend the reunion taping today,\u201d Ryan Tresdale, Karen\u2019s manager, said in a statement. \u201cWe stand behind Karen as she embarks on this meaningful journey.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bryant told Us<\/em> that she applauds Huger\u2019s decision to get help, but only wishes that she would have entered rehab sooner.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think she should have done it \u2014 gone to rehab \u2014 right after the accident,\u201d she said. \u201cI think it actually would have helped her with her case.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bryant hasn\u2019t spoken to Huger \u201csince before we filmed the reunion\u201d and \u201cbefore she went to rehab,\u201d she says, so she doesn\u2019t know what her cast member\u2019s mindset is as she prepares for sentencing.<\/p>\n

Huger, 61, was found guilty on nearly all charges except reckless driving, her rep told People on Wednesday, December 18. She is scheduled to be sentenced on January 29. \u201cAlthough we are disappointed [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI think she realizes that she\u2019s appreciative of the support, but as it relates to really understanding what she did and how that could have ended in such a more horrible way, I think she\u2019s now starting to realize that,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

When asked if perhaps it would have been in Huger\u2019s best entrance to take this season of RHOP<\/em> off, Bryant was adamant about her contribution to the reality show.<\/p>\n
