Grosse Pointe Garden Society<\/em> is filling our craving for murder, mystery, a star-studded cast \u2014 all set against a flowery backdrop.<\/p>\n

In the official trailer, which Us Weekly<\/em> can exclusively debut, the upcoming NBC introduces an unlikely friend group that has to cover up the fact<\/a> that they killed someone.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t believe we are burying a body,\u201d Melissa Fumero<\/strong>\u2018s character, Birdie, says before another scene shows her confession to Officer Joel (Matthew Davis<\/strong>), \u201cMy friends and I sort of murdered someone.\u201d<\/p>\n

The show features a voiceover from AnnaSophia Robb<\/strong>\u2018s Alice, who sets the scene for the crime<\/a>. \u201cPeople are like the flowers they plant. Some flowers are wild and without boundaries,\u201d she notes. \u201cWe all may look perfect on the surface.\u201d<\/p>\n

The series is described as \u201ca realistic examination of the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Grosse Pointe Garden Society<\/em>, however, is determined to pull back the curtain on everyone\u2019s secrets. While Alice reveals that one of her students \u201cthreatened\u201d her, Birdie wonders if the people in her life \u201chate\u201d her. Aja Naomi King<\/strong>\u2018s character, Catherine, admits her life is a \u201cmess\u201d because she\u2019s \u201ccheating\u201d on her husband. As for Ben Rappaport<\/strong>\u2018s Brett? He questions why his ex left him for another man.<\/p>\n

According to the synopsis, Grosse Pointe Garden Society<\/em> follows four members of a suburban garden club<\/a> \u201cwho find their lives intertwined by scandal, mischief and a shared secret \u2014 a murder no one wants to talk about.\u201d As the dark truths \u201cbegin to rot their lives under the surface, they struggle to remain as perfect as the flowers blooming in their garden above.\u201d<\/p>\n

Apple TV+ surprised viewers by renewing Bad Monkey after the ending left the show\u2019s future unclear. Based on the novel of the same name by Carl Hiaasen, Bad Monkey follows former police detective Andrew [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The first look at the show<\/a> doesn\u2019t reveal who gets killed but it becomes obvious that their identity won\u2019t stay hidden for long. The friend group appears to be primarily at odds with newcomer Birdie.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think she gets the first rule of garden club,\u201d Brett suggests after Birdie runs to the police station while Alice adds, \u201cShe would 100 percent turn us in.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to Fumero, King, Rappaport and Robb, Grosse Pointe Garden Society<\/em> stars Alexander Hodge, Nancy Travis, Matthew Davis <\/strong>and Felix Wolfe<\/strong>. Before the show\u2019s premiere, Fumero spoke to Us<\/em> about finding herself drawn<\/a> to spookier projects.<\/p>\n
