Amy Schumer<\/strong><\/a> had success using the popular weight loss drug Ozempic<\/a>, but she quit taking the medicine after deciding the side effects weren\u2019t worth it.<\/p>\n The conversation started after Amy, 43, appeared as a guest on Howard Stern\u2019s<\/strong> Sirius XM show. Howard, 71, admitted that he \u201cf\u2013king hates Ozempic,\u201d before asking about the comedian\u2019s side effects.<\/p>\n \u201cI have this gene \u2013 GDF15 \u2013 which makes you extremely prone to nausea, which is why I was so sick during my pregnancy,\u201d Amy said during the Wednesday, January 29, episode of The Howard Stern Show<\/em><\/a>. \u201cSo, I tried Ozempic almost three years ago, and I was, like, bedridden. I was like vomiting, and then you have no energy.\u201d<\/p>\n The I Feel Pretty<\/em> star continued, \u201cBut other people take it, and they\u2019re all good.\u201d<\/p>\n Howard said that the drug \u201cdrives [him] crazy\u201d because he \u201ctries so hard to be thin.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI was so hopeful when I heard that you said, \u2018Oh, it made me sick.\u2019 I went, \u2018Oh good!\u2019 because everyone\u2019s going to get sick on it and I\u2019ll be back to being the only one who\u2019s thin,\u201d Howard joked. \u201cEvery day you read something new about it like how it prevents Alzheimer\u2019s, it gives you superpowers.\u201d<\/p>\n Amy added, \u201cNo, I tried it and I was vomiting and in bed and my son\u2019s like, \u2018Can you play tag?\u2019 and I\u2019m like, \u2018I can\u2019t.\u2019 I was, like, shriveling away. I lost 30 pounds so quick, and I looked great, but I couldn\u2019t lift my head off the pillow so, what\u2019s the point?\u201d<\/p>\n The Trainwreck<\/em> actress has always been open about her struggles with body-shaming and in 2017, she even admitted that early on in her career she was told she needed to lose weight<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m what Hollywood calls very fat,\u201d Amy said during Netflix\u2019s Amy Schumer: The Leather Special<\/em>. \u201cBefore I did anything, somebody like explained to me, \u2018Just so you know, Amy, no pressure, but if you weigh over 140 pounds, it will hurt people\u2019s eyes. And I was like, \u2018 OK.\u2019 I just bought it. I was like, \u2018OK, I\u2019m new to town. So I lost weight.’\u201d<\/p>\n However, it was those words that caused her to rethink her weight loss journey later in life.<\/p>\n \u201cI look very stupid skinny. My dumb head stays the same size but then my body, like, shrivels and I just look like a Thanksgiving Day parade [balloon] of Tonya Harding,\u201d Amy said. \u201cNobody likes it. It\u2019s not cute on me.\u201d<\/p>\n However, in 2022, Amy wanted to be honest with her fans and explained that she did go under the knife for liposuction<\/a> a couple of years after she gave birth to her son<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cCut to turning 40, after having a C-section and being like, \u2018Hi! I can\u2019t feel my FUPA anymore!\u2019\u201d Amy said during a March 3, 2022, appearance on Chelsea Handler\u2019s<\/strong> \u201cDear Chelsea<\/a>\u201d podcast. \u201cLike, and it just is out there and endometriosis. And my endometriosis surgery, I was like, \u2018I healed well.\u2019 So, I was like, \u2018Can I get lipo?\u2019 And I got lipo, and I\u2019m feeling really good.\u201d<\/p>\n The Snatched<\/em> star continued, \u201cI just wanted to say that because if anybody sees me in pictures or anything and they\u2019re like, \u2018She looks thinner,\u2019 and whatever, it\u2019s because I had a surgery. \u201cIt\u2019s too hard, and I just wanna be real about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
