No rest for a broken heart! Joe Alwyn<\/strong><\/a> jumped back into work \u2014 filming The Brutalist<\/em> \u2014 in the wake of his split from Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n Us Weekly<\/em> confirmed in early April that Alwyn and Swift called it quits after six years together<\/a>. The news broke amid the Grammy winner\u2019s ongoing Eras Tour<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cFame factored into their split,\u201d a source exclusively told Us<\/em><\/a> at the time. \u201cJoe is very shy and never liked all of the attention that came with dating one of the most popular singers in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n The English actor, however, never \u201cblamed\u201d Swift for her popularity, the insider noted, adding, \u201cHe just didn\u2019t like having to be on all of the time.\u201d<\/p>\n While Swift was focused on her music \u2014 and touring<\/a> \u2014 beginning in March<\/a>, Alwyn was busy with his own job. The Conversations With Friends<\/em><\/a> alum jetted off to Hungry that same month to start shooting The Brutalist<\/em>.<\/p>\n His costar Emma Laird<\/strong> confirmed on April 18 that cameras has been rolling on set via a series of Instagram photos<\/a>. \u201cMoments in March\u2764\ufe0f\ud83c\udfa5,\u201d the Mayor of Kingstown<\/em> actress captioned the snaps, which included a solo shot of Alwyn riding a scooter<\/a>.<\/p>\n Laird also posed with the film\u2019s writer and director, Brady Corbet<\/strong>, and lead actor Adrien Brody<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Alwyn, Brody and Laird were all announced in April as part of the official cast<\/a> of The Brutalist<\/em>. The drama, however, has been on filmgoer\u2019s radars since September 2020.<\/p>\n
