Southern Charm <\/i>stars Austen Kroll<\/strong><\/a> and Patricia Altschul<\/strong> could sense \u201cthe writing was on the wall\u201d before Craig Conover<\/strong><\/a> and Paige DeSorbo<\/strong><\/a> broke up.<\/p>\n

\u201cWas I surprised?\u201d Kroll, 37, said during his Thursday, January 30, appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen<\/i><\/a>. \u201cI mean, I know it\u2019s, like, a block kind of answer, but the writing was on the wall. I knew something was amiss for a month or so before I heard this news.\u201d<\/p>\n

DeSorbo, 32, announced in December 2024 that she and Conover, 35, called it quits<\/a> after three years of dating. When Altschul, 83, later heard the news, she similarly was not taken aback.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought Paige was mean to Craig,\u201d Altschul claimed to host Andy Cohen on Thursday. \u201cIf you think back, Naomie [Olindo]<\/strong> was mean to Craig. I think he deserves somebody who will really love and cherish him because remember he said to her, \u2018I want to get married and have kids.\u2019 And she said, \u2018Blech.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tCraig Conover and Paige DeSorbo split after three years of dating, but how did they go from contemplating an engagement to calling it quits? \u201cCraig was ready for the next steps and had plans to propose to Paige. He was really pushing for the next steps and wanted to settle down with her,\u201d a source [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

When asked whether DeSorbo was indeed \u201cmean\u201d toward Conover, his friend Kroll played coy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, she definitely was the dominant person in their relationship,\u201d Kroll said. \u201cThat\u2019s a nice way of putting it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Conover dated Southern Charm <\/i>alum Olindo, 32, from 2014 to 2017, later moving on with Natalie Hegnauer<\/strong>. Following the Sewing Down South founder\u2019s split from Hegnauer in 2021, he started seeing DeSorbo after they met while filming Winter House <\/i>season 1 later that year.<\/p>\n

DeSorbo has not publicly responded to Kroll and Altschul\u2019s accusations, but she previously stressed that the split was amicable. During an episode of her \u201cGiggly Squad\u201d podcast last month, DeSorbo stated that \u201cno one did anything\u201d wrong.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we both were just being really mature and saying what we want and what we didn\u2019t want,\u201d the Summer House <\/i>star said at the time, stressing that she and Conover would likely be able to stay friends. \u201cI think that\u2019s extremely powerful<\/a> to be able to voice how you\u2019re feeling in real-time and what you want for your future.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tPaige DeSorbo and Craig Conover went from friends to lovers to exes. The Southern Charm star and the Summer House personality crossed paths while starring on their respective Bravo shows. \u201cI met Craig, actually, three years ago and he was single. I had a boyfriend, and I absolutely respected that I was in a relationship,\u201d [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Weeks later, Conover called the breakup \u201cvery unexpected\u201d in a social media video of his own.<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess I gotta start living again<\/a>, whatever that looks like. Whatever my new normal looks like \u2014 I have to start,\u201d he said in Instagram Story footage shared on January 7. \u201c\u2018Gratitude will get you through this, with time comes clarity\u2019 \u2013 all of the advice, I\u2019m trying to listen to. \u201cBut, yeah. [It happened] right before the holidays. I was very shocked. And it\u2019s OK.\u201d<\/p>\n

Conover further noted that \u201cit takes two people to be in a relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n
