The rocker, 76, has been sober for over 40 years, and has now revealed his backstage riders have changed dramatically from his boozy hellraising days.<\/p>\n
He told People: \u201cThe drugs backstage are still there \u2014 except they\u2019re Bengay, Advil, Tylenol. <\/p>\n
\u201cAll the rockstar drugs are now at Walgreens.\u201d<\/p>\n
Alice\u2019s shift to sobriety came after years of battling addiction. <\/p>\n
\nHe added about his past alcohol use: \u201cWhen I used to drink, my drink was whiskey and Coca-Cola. I used to be the Dean Martin of rock \u2018n\u2019 roll. There was always a drink in my hand.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nBut he added about how he has now completely changed his ways: \u201cI have absolutely no desire to ever put alcohol in my mouth again, or any drug.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAlice \u2013\u00a0born Vincent Damon Furnier \u2013 now views sobriety as essential for long-term success in the industry. <\/p>\n
\nHe added: \u201cRock \u2018n\u2019 roll is more of an attitude. You don\u2019t have to be drunk or high to be a rocker.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAlice also stressed sobriety didn\u2019t detract from his career, adding: \u201cI\u2019ve never once had anybody come up to me and go, \u2018Wow, what a wimp.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHe added Johnny Depp, his guitarist in their band Hollywood Vampires, also lives a sober lifestyle. <\/p>\n
\nAlice insisted: \u201cWe\u2019re all sober, and he\u2019s sitting there and he has an alcohol-free Heineken. And he\u2019s vaping. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo he\u2019s got phony cigarettes and phony alcohol \u2013 and I told him he was gonna have a phony heart attack.\u201d<\/p>\n
