Why did I do that?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have one. But I had never been to this award ceremony, so I thought it was like a roast. So I got up and I roasted her,\u201d <strong>Reese <\/strong>said. \u201cThe tone was British and elegant and classy. And I was like, \u2018Remember the time we got laser hair removal?!\u2019 I\u2019m still embarrassed about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re not friends anymore. I\u2019m not even kidding \u2014 we\u2019re not friends anymore,\u201d <strong>Reese <\/strong>added. \u201cI think she doesn\u2019t like me anymore. I thought it was so funny and it was just, I had the wrong audience. It was pretty bad. Yeah. Not even kidding, she doesn\u2019t talk to me anymore. Oh well.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Well, we tracked down the transcript of the exact speech and she gave it while honoring <strong>Kate Winslet<\/strong> at the <em>BAFTA\/LA Cunard Britannia Awards<\/em> in November 2007.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reese<\/strong> and <strong>Kate<\/strong> were seemingly friendly already as they were seen greeting each other at the <em>2007 Golden Globe Awards<\/em> in January 2007. <\/p>\n<div class=\"center\"><\/div>\n<p>So, what did <strong>Reese <\/strong>say in that speech? The transcript was posted on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reese-witherspoon.org\/2007\/11\/02\/reese-and-kate-get-bawdy-tawdry-and-drunken\/\" onclick=\"getOutboundLink(&#039;https:\/\/www.reese-witherspoon.org\/2007\/11\/02\/reese-and-kate-get-bawdy-tawdry-and-drunken\/&#039;); return false;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a fan site<\/a> back in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI always wanted to be a European movie star, wear giant sunglasses, elaborate neck scarves, smoke hand-rolled cigarettes, and have savoir faire and gravitas,\u201d <strong>Reese <\/strong>said. \u201cImagine my good fortune when Kate Winslet moved into my neighborhood, rang my door bell and said, (insert British accent here) \u2018Dahling, Sam is off shooting, and I believe our children are the same age. Could they possibly have a play date and oh, by the way, it\u2019s almost 9 o\u2019clock and I\u2019ve had nothing to do drink, do you have any wine?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reese <\/strong>said that she admires <strong>Kate<\/strong>\u2018s \u201cfearlessness.
