Wynonna Judd<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s cohosting gig on Today With Hoda & Jenna<\/em><\/a> was an emotional episode for Jenna Bush Hager<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The women opened the show\u2019s Thursday, January 30, episode<\/a> by offering their condolences to the victims of the Washington, D.C. plane crash<\/a> that occurred the night prior. \u201cOur show, what we hope to do \u2014 and I\u2019m so thrilled that I get to do it with you \u2014 is to bring some joy to all of you that are with us feeling that same pain,\u201d Bush Hager, 43, said to her celebrity guest host.<\/p>\n

Spreading joy is exactly why Judd, 60, said she wanted to sit alongside Bush Hager in the first place. \u201cThat\u2019s why I came. I was gonna tell you this. Last night, I didn\u2019t sleep at all because I just have you on my heart,\u201d she shared. \u201cI watch you every day. And I went on my own in 1992, solo, and I think about you so much. And you\u2019re a mom and a wife, and I don\u2019t know how you\u2019re doing this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wynonna rose to fame alongside her late mother, Naomi Judd<\/strong>, in the musical duo The Judds before launching her solo music career. Bush Hager was also part of a famous duo, having cohosted the fourth hour of Today<\/em> alongside Hoda Kotb<\/strong> since 2019. Kotb exited the morning show after nearly 30 years working for NBC earlier this month.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tNathan Congleton\/NBC Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager formed a strong bond both on and off the small screen. Kotb and Bush Hager joined NBC\u2019s Today in 2007 and 2009, respectively, and went on to cohost the show\u2019s fourth hour together following Kathie Lee Gifford\u2019s 2019 exit. For over five years, the duo made fans [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cBut I just want to affirm you and say being authentic is lonely, and I can imagine you feel that way sometimes,\u201d Wynonna continued. \u201cBut I just love you and I appreciate you and I admire you so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

The country star went on to note that as \u201ceasy\u201d as celebrities make things look on the surface, \u201cThe truth is we\u2019re paddling like heck underneath the waters,\u201d adding, \u201cI had to do this show. I don\u2019t really love live TV \u2019cause I\u2019m always afraid I\u2019m gonna go viral for the wrong reasons, but I just had to do this. I just admire you for doing this on your own. I have you on my heart \u2019cause I did it myself. I went out on my own. I stepped into my own.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to making Bush Hager tear up with her kind words, Wynonna also made the TV personality choke up by singing a line from the song\u201cYou\u2019ll Never Walk Alone\u201d. She sang, \u201cWhen the voices are speaking to you, just remember, \u2018Walk through the storm, hold your head up high and don\u2019t be afraid of the dark. Walk on.\u2019 That\u2019s what you\u2019re doing. I wanted to make you cry. That was my goal too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her plan worked, as Bush Hager noted it was the first time she had cried on air since Kotb\u2019s Today<\/em> exit. \u201cI haven\u2019t actually cried since Hoda left, so I felt like my heart was all crusted over, but it\u2019s not,\u201d she stated. \u201cThank you so much. That was beautiful and lovely.\u201d<\/p>\n
