Khlo\u00e9 Kardashian<\/b><\/a> has been open about the ups and downs she experienced with ex-husband <\/span>Lamar Odom<\/b><\/a>, and she recently revealed the \u201cmoment\u201d she knew their marriage was over.<\/p>\n \u201cI remember, I was married and my ex-husband had a drug addiction,\u201d Khlo\u00e9, 40, told motivational speaker Mel Robbins<\/strong> during the Wednesday, January 29, episode of her \u201cKhlo\u00e9 in Wonderland\u201d<\/a> podcast. \u201cAnd I knew that his addiction always heightened \u2014 he was in the NBA \u2014 and his addiction always heightened when he was in the off-season, cause idle time is the devil\u2019s playground.\u201d<\/p>\n She then recalled a time when Lamar, 45, was asked to join Team USA. \u201cI was begging, \u2018Please, please go to Team USA\u2019 and I was pushing, and I remember he just looked at me and said, \u2018You can\u2019t want it more than I do,\u2019\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cI remember when he said, \u2018You can\u2019t want it more than me\u2019 and \u2018I don\u2019t want it\u2019 \u2014 it was so profound,\u201d Khlo\u00e9 said of the conversation. \u201cIt\u2019s so silly, cause I know that. But I wanted it so badly, because I wanted to help him and to get him to feel the motivation and feel good, but he just wasn\u2019t in that place.\u201d<\/p>\n She explained that the conversation ultimately led her to make the decision to end their marriage. \u201cIt took me a long time to get to, then I had to file for divorce,\u201d the Kardashians<\/em> star said. \u201cThat was a very pivotal moment in my life because I remember that statement being like\u2026\u201dYeah, you\u2019re right. I can\u2019t want your life more than you.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Khlo\u00e9 and Lamar got married in 2009 following a whirlwind romance. They hit many roadblocks during their marriage amid Lamar\u2019s struggles with addiction, while they were also faced with several cheating rumors.<\/p>\n She filed for divorce in 2013<\/span><\/a>, though their <\/span>proceedings were put on hold when Lamar <\/span>was found unresponsive<\/span><\/a> at a Nevada brothel following a near-fatal overdose in 2015. Their divorce was finally signed off in 2016.<\/p>\n Later on in the episode, Khlo\u00e9 pointed out that she was \u201cso young\u201d during her marriage to Lamar and believed she could change him. Now that she\u2019s had time to grow up and mature, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians<\/em> alum said she\u2019s \u201cso much better at\u201d realizing she can\u2019t change people now.<\/p>\n
