Suits<\/em><\/a> creator Aaron Korsh<\/strong> directly addressed fans\u2019 concerns about the Suits LA<\/em> spinoff and how the series will affect the memory of the original show.<\/p>\n

Korsh, 58, took to X<\/a> on Sunday, January 26, to reply to viewers who asked whether Suits LA<\/em> will \u201cruin\u201d the original show.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot trying to replace our beloved originals. Just a new crew working in a different city handling different kinds of cases,\u201d he responded, before elaborating further in a separate post, \u201cIt seems like people are all wishing it was the originals back. I expected this and can\u2019t blame them. I can only hope they give #SuitsLA an open-minded try. If they do, I really believe they will grow to love it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Korsh maintained that NBC\u2019s Suits LA<\/em> is \u201c100% its own thing\u201d but it \u201cdoes have overlap\u201d with the OG series. In response to a question about Gabriel Macht reprising the role of Harvey Specter, Korsh didn\u2019t rule out the possibility of more cameos from former Suits<\/em> stars.<\/a><\/p>\n

Set in a fictional New York City corporate law firm, the original Suits followed associate lawyer Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), who started working [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThe network very much wanted one original member. If you watch, you\u2019ll see that from a story standpoint Harvey made the most sense,\u201d he continued. \u201c[Suits LA<\/em> is] its own thing, not a Suits<\/em> spinoff.\u201d<\/p>\n

Korsh specifically reacted to the possibility of Patrick J Adams, Sarah Rafferty <\/strong>or Meghan Markle<\/strong> appearing on Suits LA<\/em>, adding, \u201cIt remains to be seen.\u201d The executive producer is \u201copen\u201d to the idea but his priority is to \u201claunch these characters on this show.\u201d<\/p>\n

Set in a fictional New York City corporate law firm, the original Suits<\/em> followed<\/a> associate lawyer Mike Ross (Adams), who started working with Harvey Specter. The legal drama, which ran from 2011 to 2019, focused on Harvey and Mike winning lawsuits and closing cases while simultaneously hiding Mike\u2019s secret that he didn\u2019t go to law school.<\/p>\n

The show had a resurgence in popularity<\/a> in 2023 when it was added to Netflix and Peacock. As a result, NBC developed a spinoff starring Stephen Amell, Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis <\/strong>and Bryan Greenberg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to play the hits. We want to have a lot of fun,\u201d Amell told Entertainment Weekly<\/em> in December 2024. \u201cWe are only sitting in Black Lane Law group conference room at the moment right now because of Gabriel and Patrick and Sarah and Meghan and Rick [Hoffman] and all of the people that comprised the original Suits cast. So all of them are welcome.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t2025 is a big year for TV spinoffs with shows such as The Handmaid\u2019s Tale, 9-1-1, The Big Bang Theory and more growing their onscreen universes. ABC caught Us\u2018 interest with their promise of a second 9-1-1 spinoff. The original show has focused on Los Angeles first responders with Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Oliver Stark, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Amell also confirmed that his character has a special connection<\/a> with Harvey Specter.<\/p>\n
