Chrishell Stause<\/strong><\/a> and Nicole Young<\/strong>\u2018s feud made for great TV but now their issues are affecting the production of Netflix\u2019s Selling Sunset<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Selling Sunset<\/em>, which debuted in 2019, follows employees at high-end Los Angeles real estate brokerage the Oppenheim Group. The Netflix series boasts expensive homes<\/a>, but it is the drama between the cast that keeps viewers coming back for more.<\/p>\n

Chrishell is an OG cast member who has seen her fair share of onscreen tension, which meant she was prepared when Nicole joined the show in season 6. The pair immediately found themselves at odds while feuding over their qualifications<\/a>. More specifically, Nicole accused Chrishell of only getting real estate listings because their boss Jason Oppenheim<\/strong> had a crush on her.<\/p>\n

The soap actress, who dated Jason for several<\/a> months in 2021 following her divorce, denied the claims and escalated the situation by alleging that Nicole was on drugs at a group dinner. Nicole denied the accusation and Chrishell attempted to fix their issues one season later, but Nicole wouldn\u2019t apologize for her past comments.<\/p>\n

The reality series made its debut in 2019 and has quickly become a fan-favorite during its three seasons. The series follows Chrishell Stause, Christine Quinn, Heather Rae Young, Maya Vander, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Tensions heightened in season 7 when Nicole brought up rumors that Emma Hernan<\/strong> was allegedly sleeping with a married man. In response, Chrishell made it clear she had no plans to work with Nicole in the future and the newcomer\u2019s screen time was later<\/a> put on pause.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a call with production two days ago during which they told me I have absolutely not been fired from the cast but they chose to pause my filming schedule until next week in order to protect me from situations on set that had become very contentious,\u201d Nicole told Us Weekly<\/em> in a statement in January 2025. \u201cI\u2019m still debating whether or not I want to continue filming in this kind of environment, especially with so many infuriating double standards.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cSelling Sunset has been a great opportunity and a wild ride, but it is not my life or identity. I have a big, beautiful life outside of the show\u2026 and thankfully in the real world, my life and personality can\u2019t be edited or misconstrued to portray me negatively to fit into a produced storyline.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nicole made a memorable entrance when she joined Selling Sunset<\/em> in season 6 and immediately brought up her issues<\/a> with Chrishell.<\/p>\n

\u201cA couple of years ago, Jason added both Nicole and I onto a listing. And Nicole didn\u2019t think that I deserved any credit when the house sold because I was a fairly new agent. And she felt like she did a lot more work than I did,\u201d Chrishell recalled on the show. \u201cEven though I did show the house to multiple buyers, and I held open houses.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chrishell tried to be the bigger person by offering a truce, adding, \u201cI\u2019m hoping we can move forward [from the drama]. It felt ugly. It felt gross. And it doesn\u2019t matter who\u2019s right anymore because we\u2019re both going to lose in this situation. We can lose in business, in friendships. And it\u2019s not something I want to be involved in. So I just want to apologize because I know that I got really upset and triggered about certain things.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite Chrishell\u2019s attempt to take responsibility, Nicole was not ready to own up<\/a> to any mistakes.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe apologized but it was very vague. Here\u2019s the thing, was it the right move? I don\u2019t know. Did I lose an opportunity to be able to mend things and move on? I don\u2019t know,\u201d Nicole explained on screen. \u201cHonestly, I should\u2019ve just nipped it in the bud and moved on. After season 6 premiered on Netflix, Nicole opened up about facing backlash from fans<\/a> due to her disagreements with Chrishell.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe vicious hatred I\u2019ve received from strangers stings a lot less when surrounded by the ARMY of loyal friends and family who love and support me, lift me up and most importantly, know who I really am,\u201d she wrote via Instagram on Monday, May 22. \u201cAt the end of the day, that\u2019s all that matters \u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chrishell weighed in on Nicole\u2019s claims that same month, writing via Instagram Story, \u201cBeing on a reality show on such a huge platform makes for an influx of feedback and I am certainly not a stranger to death threats after 6 seasons. Chrishell and Nicole reunited to film season 7<\/a> and got off on the wrong foot. After Emma confronted Nicole at an event for calling her a \u201csocial climber,\u201d Chrishell sided with Emma.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will continue to say [that] everything I say about you is true,\u201d Chrishell told Nicole. \u201cI make more than you in five minutes than you could ever make in five years. You\u2019ve rearranged your whole face. You got everything done.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the season 7 reunion, Chrishell maintained that she felt \u201chate\u201d toward Nicole, adding, \u201cI own it. I don\u2019t care that it\u2019s not nice. I do hate you and I know you hate me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nicole, however, claimed she apologized to Chrishell but it never aired.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cJust wanted to jump on here really quick because there\u2019s something in the reunion that wasn\u2019t shown in the final edit,\u201d she wrote via Instagram Stories after the reunion started streaming. \u201cI don\u2019t know why. I don\u2019t understand. I have no explanation, but during the reunion taping, I definitely did apologize to Chrishell.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nicole continued: \u201cFor whatever reason they decided not to put it in the final edit. So you won\u2019t see that unfortunately this evening but it definitely did happen. One season later, Chrishell brought up how Nicole \u201cliked\u201d negative comments about her, which included anti-LGBTQIA+ statements. (Nicole addressed her problematic<\/a> social media interactions at the season 7 reunion in late 2023 after she responded to a comment from a viewer on Instagram who referred to Chrishell as the \u201clesbian chick.\u201d)<\/p>\n

\u201cTo me there are two options, you either are homophobic or you\u2019re not and you were just so excited and wrapped up in your hate for me that you banded onto people that hated me and happened to be attacking me for my sexuality,\u201d Chrishell told Nicole. \u201cIf you owned it I would be like, \u2018OK.\u2019 I would respect it and we could move on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nicole was encouraged to \u201ctake accountability\u201d for her behavior by bosses Jason and Brett Oppenheim<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a stupid mistake,\u201d Nicole explained to Chrishell. \u201cI fully support you. I am not homophobic. It tears me up that you or anyone else would think that because I am not. I know how hurtful it is. I am truly, deeply sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n

The coworkers hugged it out but the truce didn\u2019t last<\/a> long. Days before season 8 aired, Chrishell put Nicole on blast via Instagram for spreading a rumor on the show about Emma allegedly having an affair with a married man.<\/p>\n

Speaking of the affair, viewers had no idea what they were in for when Chrishell publicly called Nicole out before season 8 premiered.<\/p>\n

\u201cDisclaimer when you watch: Just know she spews a disgusting lie about a bestie that is categorically FALSE and SUPER damaging,\u201d Chrishell wrote via Instagram. \u201cSomeone needs to take my phone [because] \ud83e\udd2c\ud83e\udd2c\ud83e\udd2c\ud83e\udd2c\ud83e\udd2c. Are we really still giving air time to LIARS that just want air time??\u201d she added. \u201cI will NEVER work on a show with her on it again. I would rather be sued.\u201d<\/p>\n

Emma broke her silence<\/a> on the rumors, telling Netflix\u2019s Tudum, \u201cNicole was made aware by that source that the rumors she was spreading about me were absolutely not true, and despite knowing she was spreading lies, she continued to do so on camera over the following months. I am so disappointed that she would do such a thing to another woman.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nicole, meanwhile, stood by her decision to address the topic<\/a> on Selling Sunset<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI only talked about this because I assumed that Emma knew [that the rumor had been circulating]. I\u2019d also been told there were going to be certain things that would be shown to support that,\u201d Nicole noted to Tudum<\/em> that same month. \u201cFor example, at the party featured in the season 7 finale, the woman who brought this information to me confronted Emma \u2014 it was a filmed event when both Emma and I were mic-ed up. This was not something I just came up with.\u201d<\/p>\n
