Pamela Anderson<\/strong><\/a> is weighing in after missing out on an Oscar nomination.<\/p>\n

The actress, 57, received acclaim for her performance in The Last Showgirl<\/em>. Still, she was absent<\/a> from the Best Actress in a Leading Role category when nominations for the 97th Academy Awards were announced<\/a> on Thursday, January 23.<\/p>\n

According to Anderson, the snub wasn\u2019t much of a surprise.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh my gosh, it\u2019s not something I ever expected. Doing the work is the win,\u201d she told Elle.com<\/a> after the nominations were announced Thursday. \u201cThat\u2019s what I like to do, and I think we can lose sight of that sometimes in this whole crazy awards season, but it\u2019s nice to be recognized, and it\u2019s all a bonus.\u201d<\/p>\n

Emilia P\u00e9rez leads the pack with 13 Academy Awards nods, including Best Picture, Best International Feature Film and Best [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Despite missing out on an Oscar nod, Anderson was recognized with nominations for The Last Showgirl<\/em><\/a> at the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t imagine [it] anyway. I\u2019m happy for the SAG nomination, that\u2019s [voted on by] your peers. That\u2019s really cool,\u201d Anderson told the outlet.<\/p>\n

The nominees for Best Actress in a Leading Role include Cynthia Erivo<\/strong> for Wicked<\/em>, Karla Sof\u00eda Gasc\u00f3n<\/strong> for Emilia P\u00e9rez<\/em>, Anora<\/em> star Mikey Madson<\/strong>, Demi Moore<\/strong> for The Substance<\/em><\/a> and Fernanda Torres<\/strong>, who starred in I\u2019m Still Here<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Baywatch<\/em> icon Anderson has received career-best reviews for her role as Shelly, an aging Las Vegas showgirl, in the Gia Coppola<\/strong>-directed movie.<\/p>\n

In October 2024, the actress exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> that she considered the movie the true beginning of her acting career.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the beginning of my career,\u201d Anderson told Us<\/em> at the 2024 Glamour Women of the Year Awards. \u201cI have a lot to do yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anderson spoke candidly about the evolution of her career earlier in October after receiving the Golden Eye Award at the Zurich Film Festival.<\/p>\n
