Cynthia Erivo<\/a> (Elphaba) in the running for Best Actress.<\/p>\n\nAriana celebrated her Academy Awards nomination by sharing childhood photos of herself dressed as Dorothy from \u2018The Wizard of Oz\u2019 on Instagram.<\/p>\n
\nAlongside the snap, she wrote on Instagram: \u201cPicking my head up in between sobs to say thank you so much to @theacademy for this unfathomable recognition. <\/p>\n
\n“I cannot stop crying, to no one\u2019s surprise.<\/p>\n
\n“I\u2019m humbled and deeply honored to be in such brilliant company and sharing this with tiny Ari [her younger self] who sat and studied Judy Garland singing ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ just before the big, beautiful bubble entered. I\u2019m so proud of you, tiny.<\/p>\n
\n“Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, for this acknowledgement @theacademy.”<\/p>\n
\nShe also described herself as \u201chumbled and deeply honoured\u201d to be nominated alongside other \u201cbrilliant\u201d actors \u2013 and gave special thanks to her director Chu.<\/p>\n
\nThe pop star wrote: \u201cYou are the most unbelievably brilliant leader, human being, and most fierce friend. I am so deeply proud of my beautiful \u2018Wicked\u2019 family.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nShe also congratulated her \u2018Wicked\u2019 co-star Cynthia, adding: \u201cI am so proud of my Elphie, my sister, my dear @cynthiaerivo. <\/p>\n
\n“Your brilliance is never ending, and you deserve every flower (tulip) in every garden. I love you unconditionally, always.”<\/p>\n
\nShe concluded her message by adding: “I don\u2019t quite have all my words yet, I\u2019m still trying to breathe. But thank you. Oh my goodness, thank you. <\/p>\n
\n“Universal, Marc, my family, my heart.<\/p>\n
\n“Lemons and melons and pears, oh my.”<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, Jennifer previously thanked Ariana for her career renaissance after she starred in her music video for ‘Thank U, Next’ in 2018.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking to the singer for Entertainment Weekly’s 2022 Entertainers of the Year cover story, the ‘White Lotus’ star said: \u201cI mean, from there I got [the film] \u2018Promising Young Woman,\u2019 and this whole thing.<\/p>\n
\n“You were sort of the instigator. I really believe that. I think if you hadn\u2019t put me in \u2018Thank U, Next,\u2019 and done that imitation, I don\u2019t think I would be here where I am.\u201d<\/p>\n
