Spencer Pratt<\/strong><\/a> and Heidi Montag<\/strong><\/a> filed a lawsuit against the city of Los Angeles and its Department of Water and Power (LADWP) following the destruction of their home in the Palisades wildfire.<\/p>\n

Spencer, 41, and Heidi, 38, were among nearly two dozen plaintiffs \u2013 which also included Spencer\u2019s mother Janet Pratt<\/strong> \u2013 in the lawsuit which was filed on Tuesday, January 21, per Rolling Stone<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Rolling Stone<\/em> reported on Thursday, January 23 that the plaintiffs are alleging in the lawsuit that the city of L.A. and its water department mismanaged the water supply, leading to \u201can inescapable and unavoidable consequence.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLADWP and City of Los Angeles had a duty to properly construct, inspect, maintain and operate its water supply system,\u201d the suit read, per Rolling Stone.<\/em> \u201cThe Palisades Fire was an inescapable and unavoidable consequence of the water supply system operated by LADWP and City of Los Angeles as it was planned and constructed. The system necessarily failed, and this failure was a substantial factor in causing Plaintiffs to suffer the losses alleged in this Complaint.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSpencer Pratt\u2019s sister, Stephanie Pratt, revealed her brother and his wife, Heidi Montag, lost their Los Angeles home as the Pacific Palisades fire continues to ravage the Los Angeles area. According to an Instagram post from Stephanie, Montag, 38, and Pratt, 41, lost their property as the blaze took hold of the star-studded area on [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to the outlet, the suit claimed the city\u2019s water department \u201cmade the conscious decision to operate the water supply system with the reservoir drained and unusable as a \u2018cost-saving\u2019 measure.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Santa Ynez Reservoir\u00a0 \u2013 which the suit claims has been awaiting repairs and \u201cout of commission since February 2024\u201d \u2013 is referenced within the lawsuit.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the Santa Ynez Reservoir effectively out of commission, hydrants in Pacific Palisades failed after three tanks each holding one million gallons of water went dry within a span of 12 hours,\u201d the lawsuit read, per People.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

Spencer\u2019s sister Stephanie Pratt<\/strong> revealed via an Instagram post on January 7 that The Hills<\/em> couple had lost their homes to the fire.<\/a><\/p>\n

In the social media post, Stephanie, 38, shared that she was devastated for her family.<\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly looking for advice. I\u2019m frozen in shock. How horrible for my sweet little nephews to watch their house disappear like this. They must be so scared and confused,\u201d she captioned a photo of the fire.<\/a> (Spencer married his Hills<\/em> costar in November 2008 and the pair share two sons, Gunner, 6, and Ryker, 13 months.)<\/p>\n
