Lauren Alaina<\/strong> is expecting her first child with husband Cam Arnold<\/strong><\/a>, and the country singer<\/a> said the pregnancy is making her feel a little bit like \u201cthe Grinch,\u201d but in a good way.<\/p>\n \u201c[I didn\u2019t know] I can love something that I haven\u2019t even really held yet. I feel the baby inside me, and it\u2019s kicking me and doing all of the things,\u201d Lauren, 30, told People<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on Wednesday, January 22. \u201cIt\u2019s like I was the Grinch or something, and my heart grew.\u201d<\/p>\n Lauren said that her pregnancy<\/a> has made her love for Cam, who she married in 2024, even stronger.<\/p>\n \u201cMy love for him grew that day of getting married, and then finding out we were having a baby together. Walking through this experience with him has been unbelievable,\u201d the American Idol<\/em><\/a> alum explained to the outlet. \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to watching my husband be a dad. He is so obsessed with our animals; he\u2019s a big nurturer in general. In fact, when I was getting ready to marry him, that was something that I knew would be one of the best things about being his wife, was being able to parent with him.\u201d<\/p>\n The news of Lauren and Cam\u2019s impending arrival came as a surprise and she admitted that they hadn\u2019t planned on trying for a baby until the end of 2025. However, the \u201cGetting Over Him\u201d singer said that she\u2019s leaving it all up to God\u2019s plans.<\/p>\n \u201cNow I\u2019m scared because I don\u2019t feel like I passed any sort of test. They don\u2019t make you take a test on being a mom. It\u2019s crazy. People are like, \u2018What\u2019s your plan with the birth? And what\u2019s your plan here?\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cAnd I\u2019m like, listen, \u2018God\u2019s plan. It wasn\u2019t my plan.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Lauren\u2019s father passed away in July 2024, but the baby news has been something that\u2019s allowed her and her family to feel some joy again.<\/p>\n \u201cI do think that my dad passed away and got a stair up in heaven and was like, \u2018Hey, we got to work something out down there to send the family something good.\u2019 And it has been such an unexpected blessing,\u201d Lauren gushed. \u201cWe obviously still talk about and are dealing with the grief of my dad, but this baby has healed a lot of that for us \u2026 like it\u2019s a little piece of my dad that will live on.\u201d<\/p>\n While she and Cam already know the sex of the baby, they\u2019re keeping that news private at the moment. She also revealed that she and Cam already have a name picked out as well. Lauren stayed tight-lipped on what they plan to call the little one, but she did tease that he or she will be named after a family member.<\/p>\n Cam and Lauren first met in 2020 when they both attended Luke Bryan\u2019s<\/strong> Crash My Playa festival. Fans weren\u2019t aware of their relationship until the \u201cLadies in the \u201890s\u201d artist revealed that the Nashville-based insurance sales professional had popped the question in November 2022. Less than two years later, Lauren and Cam said their vows on February 4, 2024.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m excited to have someone to celebrate everything with. To have a definite first call, always,\u201d Lauren told People<\/em><\/a> at the time, \u201cand just a partnership that is so much stronger than any other partnership you have. It\u2019s exciting to know you have someone to celebrate everything with and to share hardships with, to have someone that will walk through life with you, good and bad.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
