President Donald Trump says he\u2019d be open to his buddies Elon Musk or Larry Ellison buying TikTok.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cLarry, let\u2019s negotiate in front of the media,\u201d Trump said at a press conference with the Oracle co-founder, SoftBank CEO Masa Son, and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman to announce a $500 billion artificial intelligence infrastructure investment<\/a>. \u201cWhat I\u2019m thinking about saying to somebody is, buy it, and give half to the United States of America. Half, and we\u2019ll give you the permit. And they\u2019ll have a great partner, the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cSounds like a good deal to me, Mr. President,\u201d Ellison said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

TikTok\u2019s China-based parent company ByteDance still has other offers on the table, including from billionaire Frank McCourt\u2019s Project Liberty and now, apparently, from YouTube creator MrBeast \u2014 whose investor group is receiving legal counsel from a team that includes<\/a> the brother of Trump\u2019s attorney general pick<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As he was leaving the briefing, a reporter asked Trump if he has TikTok on his phone. \u201cNo, but I think I might put it there,\u201d Trump responded. \u201cI think I\u2019ll get it right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
