The Bachelor<\/span><\/i><\/a> host <\/span>Jesse Palmer<\/b><\/a> revealed that he had to nudge<\/span> Grant Ellis<\/b><\/a>s to pick a girl to give his final rose to in the show\u2019s upcoming season 29.<\/p>\n In the trailer for the new season, fans watched Grant, 31, appear torn as he had to decide who to give his final rose to. While speaking to Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> on Tuesday, January 21, Jesse, 46, promised that Grant\u2019s indecision at the moment was \u201creal.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t know if you could tell from watching that from my reaction, [but] I was surprised. That was something that I haven\u2019t encountered yet as the host in the last four years on any of the franchises,\u201d Jesse shared. \u201cNormally, I think, our leads have a little bit more clarity \u2014 a lot more clarity \u2014 heading into the final day. And I really think that\u2019s how conflicted Grant really was.\u201d<\/p>\n Jesse then added that many of the contestants on Grant\u2019s season<\/a> were \u201cremarkable,\u201d which made it hard for him to choose who he wanted to end up with.<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re phenomenal every year for whoever our lead is [and] making that decision on the final day is always a very, very difficult decision, but I can appreciate some of why Grant was so conflicted. I\u2019ll just say that,\u201d the retired athlete said. \u201cBut absolutely without giving away too much, that was authentic and it\u2019s real and it\u2019s not an edit.\u201d<\/p>\n As Grant admitted he didn\u2019t know who he wanted to give his final rose to in the trailer, Jesse told him that he had to make a decision. \u201cWe got both women, they\u2019re here on standby, and of course, I have to know which to send first,\u201d he said in the clip.<\/p>\n While speaking to Us Weekly<\/em>, Jesse reflected on his decision to point out that they were filming during the tense moment<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not something that I want to say or I should say. I mean, it\u2019s sort of implied. Everybody gets it. But it got to the point during our conversation where it was so up in the air. I mean, we had to get it going,\u201d he said. \u201cHe\u2019s got to make a decision<\/a> and we have to have an ending. And I\u2019m sorry I did it and I said it that way and to break that fourth wall, but I had to say it to help him understand. I know Grant understood, but that\u2019s kind of where it went. And that I think shows just kind of how real that was.\u201d<\/p>\n While Jesse couldn\u2019t reveal too much about how Grant\u2019s journey to find love ends, he did say that the season\u2019s leading man was \u201cvery, very happy with how things ended.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI know he\u2019s really excited for everybody to watch this whole thing unfold. Grant\u2019s a very easy guy to root for,\u201d Jesse continued. \u201cI\u2019m a fan of his and I know he\u2019s a guy that\u2019s been so successful in everything he\u2019s done in his life outside of love [so far].\u201d<\/p>\n
