\t\t<\/p>\n Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a> officially took office on Monday (January 20) and got right to work signing quite a few executive orders.<\/p>\n The now 47th President of the United States<\/a> first started signing orders at an indoor inauguration parade at Capital One Arena before going to the White House to continue signing more.<\/p>\n One of those orders, among the many he promised to sign on day one, was to block the TikTok ban and delay it<\/a>. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Trump<\/strong> signed the \u201cApplication of Protecting Americans From Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act to TikTok<\/a>\u201d executive order. <\/p>\n This instructs \u201cthe Attorney General not to take any action to enforce the Act for a period of 75 days from today to allow my Administration an opportunity to determine the appropriate course forward in an orderly way that protects national security while avoiding an abrupt shutdown of a communications platform used by millions of Americans.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cDuring this period, the Department of Justice shall take no action to enforce the Act or impose any penalties against any entity for any noncompliance with the Act, including for distributing, maintaining, or updating (or enabling the distribution, maintenance, or updating) of any foreign adversary controlled application as defined in the Act,\u201d the executive order states.<\/p>\n Trump<\/strong> states he intends \u201cto consult with my advisors, including the heads of relevant departments and agencies on the national security concerns posed by TikTok, and to pursue a resolution that protects national security while saving a platform used by 170 million Americans. My Administration must also review sensitive intelligence related to those concerns and evaluate the sufficiency of mitigation measures TikTok has taken to date.\u201d<\/p>\n Prior to taking office, TikTok went down on Saturday night (January 18) but was restored 14 hours later<\/a>, crediting Donald Trump<\/strong> for \u201cfor providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will face no penalties providing TikTok to over 170 million Americans and allowing over 7 million small businesses to thrive.\u201d<\/p>\n Trump<\/strong> initially declared a national emergency and signed an executive order<\/a> to prepare a ban on TikTok back in 2020. <\/p>\n <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
