The 2025 Golden Globes<\/a> were held tonight, which celebrates the very best in TV and film from the past year. The annual award show also kicks off a very busy awards season that will culminate with the 97th Academy Awards in March.<\/p>\n Comedian Nikki Glaser<\/a> hosted for the first time and did a pretty amazing job. All the jokes didn’t land, but it was a pretty great performance.<\/p>\n Emilia P\u00e9rez<\/a> entered the night with the most nominations of any film at the Golden Globes, and it just closed out with a strong showing, winning the award for best musical or comedy movie.<\/p>\n Director Jacques Audiard<\/strong> began an acceptance speech before realizing he hadn\u2019t prepared anything to say. Instead, Karla Sofia Gasc\u00f3n<\/a> stepped forward with a powerful speech about freedom.<\/p>\n \u201cYou can maybe put us in jail, you can beat us up but you never can take away our soul or resistance or identity. And I want to say to you, raise your voice, freedom and say: \u2018I won, I am who I am not who you want\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n The Brutalist<\/em><\/a> has won the Golden Globe for best motion picture in the drama category, notching another win shortly after star Adrien Brody<\/a> earned the award for best male actor in a dramatic film.<\/p>\n Shogun<\/em><\/a> took home the best drama television series award, along with three acting awards.<\/p>\n Demi Moore<\/a> delivered an emotional acceptance speech, expressing gratitude at finally feeling acknowledged by the industry after years of work. The iconic actor took to the stage to accept the award for Best Female Actor in a Motion Picture \u2013 Musical\/Comedy for her leading role in body horror film The Substance<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI’m just in shock right now,\u201d said Moore. \u201cI’ve been doing this a long time, like over 45 years, and this is the first time I’ve ever won anything as an actor.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThirty years ago I had a producer tell me that I was a \u2018popcorn actress’ and at that time I made that mean that this wasn’t something that I was allowed to have,\u201d said a teary Moore. \u201cThat I could do movies that were successful, that made a lot of money, but that I couldn’t be acknowledged. And I bought in and I believed that.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd that corroded me over time to the point where I thought a few years ago that maybe this was it. Maybe I was complete. Maybe I’d done what I was supposed to do.\u201d<\/p>\n Moore shared that she had been at a \u201clow point\u201d when she was presented with The Substance’s script, \u201cand the universe told me that \u2018you’re not done.’\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIn those moments when we don’t think we’re smart enough, or pretty enough, or skinny enough, or successful enough, or basically just not enough,\u201d said Moore. \u201cI had a woman say to me, \u2018Just know, you will never be enough.
