Armie Hammer<\/strong><\/a> has had a set of sexual assault allegations against him put \u201cunder review\u201d by the district attorney.<\/p>\n

The embattled 36-year-old \u2018Call Me by Your Name\u2019 actor \u2013 who has been fighting to claw back his Hollywood career after a string of his messages featuring extreme sexual fantasies emerged \u2013 was under investigation for nine months in 2021 after being accused of raping a woman in Los Angeles in 2017, but no charges were filed against the actor.<\/p>\n

A Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson has now confirmed it has handed over its investigation into sexual assault allegations against Armie to the district attorney, with the force\u2019s communications director Tiffiny Blacknell telling CNN: \u201cI can confirm that the LAPD has presented a case regarding Armie Hammer to the LADA (Los Angeles District Attorney\u2019s Office.)<\/p>\n

\u201cThe matter is currently under review.\u201d<\/p>\n

The LA Times reported Armie\u2019s attorney Andrew Brettler did not comment on the case when he was reached by the newspaper.<\/p>\n

It added: \u201cBlacknell did not disclose additional information about the case nor identify the complainant or complainants.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the details of the investigation remain unclear, a woman only identified as Effie accused \u2018The Social Network\u2019 star Armie of rape during a March 2021 press conference with attorney Gloria Allred at her side.<\/p>\n

Effie claimed the actor \u201cviolently\u201d raped her in 2017 while they were secretly having an affair, as Armie would have been married to his now-estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers at the time of the alleged attack.<\/p>\n

She also accused Armie of abusing her \u201cmentally, emotionally and sexually\u201d during their apparent four-year relationship.<\/p>\n

Armie has never been charged with a crime and denied the claims, slamming them as \u201coutrageous\u201d.<\/p>\n

His attorney previously told Page Six: \u201cFrom day one, Mr Hammer has maintained that all of his interactions with (Effie) \u2013 and every other sexual partner of his for that matter \u2013 have been completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance, and mutually participatory.<\/p>\n

\u201c(Effie\u2019s) attention seeking and ill-advised legal bid will only make it more difficult for real victims of sexual violence to get the justice they deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other women have accused the actor of harbouring \u201cabusive\u201d bondage fantasies and cannibalistic fetishes \u2013 allegations Armie has said drive him to wish he was dead.<\/p>\n

The actor, who has daughter, Harper, eight, and son Ford, six, with his former wife, told AirMail about the impact of the claims on his mental health: \u201cI just walked out into the ocean and swam out as far as I could and hoped that either I drowned, or was hit by a boat, or eaten by a shark.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
