Major companies are contributing to wildfire relief efforts in the Los Angeles area.<\/p>\n
Google<\/strong><\/a>\/YouTube<\/strong><\/a>, Meta<\/strong><\/a> and Snapchat<\/strong><\/a> are among the tech companies who have announced multi-million dollar donations to immediate relief, as well as Disney<\/strong><\/a> and other entertainment companies.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n YouTube and Google, which are under the same parent company Alphabet Inc, have announced<\/a> a $15 million donation to \u201corganizations providing immediate relief in LA, including Emergency Network Los Angeles, American Red Cross, the Center for Disaster Philanthropy and the Institute for Nonprofit News. And Google is providing accurate and timely information to LA through products and services like Google Search, Google Maps and Waze.\u201d<\/p>\n YouTube CEO Neal Mohan<\/strong> adds, \u201cWhen it\u2019s safe to reopen our offices in LA, we plan to offer YouTube production facilities to impacted creators and artists as they begin to recover and rebuild their businesses. In the coming months, we\u2019ll also host a number of events to bring the YouTube creative community together \u2013 making space to connect and share resources.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cOn the long road ahead, we\u2019ll continue to support recovery and rebuilding efforts alongside our partners across the industry. In moments like these, we see the power of communities coming together to support each other \u2013 and the strength and resilience of the YouTube community is like no other.\u201d<\/p>\n According to Variety<\/a><\/em>, Meta, CEO Mark Zuckerberg<\/strong><\/a> and wife Priscilla Chan<\/strong><\/a> have made a combined $4 million donation. <\/p>\n Earlier this week, Snapchat CEO and co-founder Evan Spiegel<\/strong><\/a> announced<\/a> that along with co-founder and CTO Bobby Murphy<\/strong>, they have contributed $5 million \u201cin immediate aid and we will do more. We are feeding evacuees and first responders and offering free space. We\u2019re listening to experts on megafire recovery and learning every day what more we can do and how we can rise to the challenge. We want to collaborate and build together with you.\u201d<\/p>\n Last week, The Walt Disney Company announced<\/a> a $15 million donation for \u201cinitial and immediate response and rebuilding efforts,\u201d with support going to \u201cvital organizations offering essential services on the ground, including the American Red Cross, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, among others.\u201d<\/p>\n Other companies that have made donations include Paramount, CAA, Comcast and NBCUniversal, Netflix, Amazon and Warner Bros. Discovery. <\/p>\n It was recently announced that Eva Longoria<\/strong><\/a> donated $1 million<\/a> through her Eva Longoria Foundation, Beyonc\u00e9<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s BeyGOOD foundation donated $2.5 million<\/a>, and Paris Hilton<\/strong><\/a> raised $800,000<\/a> through her 111:11 Media Impact non-profit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
