<\/p>\n Fans hoping for a crossover between The Rookie<\/em> <\/a>and 9-1-1<\/em><\/a> are likely to be disappointed.<\/p>\n The Rookie<\/em> showrunner Alexi Hawley<\/strong> shut down the idea<\/a> of their show sharing scenes with fellow ABC series 9-1-1<\/em>, telling TV Line<\/em><\/a> on Monday, January 13, \u201cNo, we haven\u2019t really talked about that. To me, that\u2019s a hard crossover.\u201d<\/p>\n Hawley clarified the reason why there haven\u2019t been attempts<\/a> to combine the two shows.<\/p>\n \u201cJust because you have an expectation that you\u2019re going to see [9-1-1<\/em> characters] all the time,\u201d Hawley noted about how a crossover would open the door for more. \u201cIf we\u2019re both in the same universe in Los Angeles, how are we not stumbling over them all the time?\u201d<\/p>\n In 2018, Fox premiered 9-1-1<\/em> and introduced viewers to the professional and personal lives of Los Angeles first responders. The show, which starred Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Oliver Stark, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryan Guzman<\/strong> and Kenneth Choi<\/strong>, remained on the network until 2023.<\/p>\n After Fox canceled 9-1-1<\/em>, ABC swooped in and renewed<\/a> the show for a seventh season and has continued to find success on the network. It\u2019s first spinoff, 9-1-1: Lone Star<\/em>, however, hasn\u2019t had the same luck.<\/p>\n 9-1-1: Lone Star<\/em> followed a New York firefighter (played by Rob Lowe<\/strong>) who relocated to Texas while trying to balance his job alongside his personal issues. Ronen Rubinstein, Sierra McClain, Jim Parrack, Natacha Karam, Brian Michael Smith, Rafael L. Silva, Julian Works <\/strong>and Gina Torres<\/strong> made up the rest of the cast.<\/p>\n By 2023, 9-1-1: Lone Star<\/em> was renewed for its fifth and final season<\/a> on Fox.
