Never fall in love at the Jersey Shore<\/em><\/a>. Sammi \u201cSweetheart\u201d Giancola<\/strong><\/a> and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s tumultuous relationship was one of the biggest storylines throughout the original MTV series.<\/p>\n While Sammi was originally flirting with Mike \u201cThe Situation\u201d Sorrentino<\/strong><\/a> in the 2009 premiere, she ultimately found a connection with Ronnie. The duo began dating<\/a> in season 1, leaving the shore house as a couple<\/a> at the end of their trip. It wasn\u2019t until the January 2010 reunion that they broke up for the first time<\/a> \u2014 live on camera.<\/p>\n During the special, the Jersey Shore<\/em> cast<\/a>\u00a0was shown never-before-seen footage of Sammi confiding to Mike that she flirted with a police officer after seeing Ronnie dance with another woman at a nightclub. Mike, for his part, confessed to Sammi he didn\u2019t think Ronnie was worth her time and gave her a little smooch near her mouth.<\/p>\n Though the exes didn\u2019t speak to each other until they reunited in Miami for the next installment of the franchise, 2010\u2019s season 2 was filled with dramatic, on-again, off-again moments<\/a> between Ronnie and Sammi.<\/p>\n One standout scene involved Jenni \u201cJWoww\u201d Farley<\/strong><\/a> and Nicole \u201cSnooki\u201d Polizzi<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s iconic note to Sammi<\/a>, warning her that Ronnie \u201cmade out with two girls and put his head in between a cocktail waitress\u2019 breasts\u201d during a night out.<\/p>\n The anonymous message went on to detail more of Ronnie\u2019s NSFW behavior from the night before, warning Sammi \u2014 who had just gotten back together<\/a> with the Bronx native \u2014 that \u201cmultiple people in the house knew [about Ronnie\u2019s infidelity<\/a>]\u201d and she should as well.<\/p>\n Throughout the rest of the series, Sammi and Ronnie continued to break things off and get back together<\/a>. However, during the Jersey Shore<\/em><\/a> series finale in 2012, the reality stars left the show together with plans to move in together and settle down.<\/p>\n Less than two years later, Ronnie confirmed that he and the New Jersey native called it quits for good<\/a>. \u201cMe and Sammi aren\u2019t together anymore,\u201d he exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> in August 2014. \u201cWe just grew our separate ways. She\u2019s still a great person. I love her as a person and I care about her but we went our separate ways. That\u2019s it.\u201d<\/p>\n Following their split, Sammi got engaged to longtime boyfriend Christian Biscardi<\/strong><\/a> in 2020. In July 2021, she revealed that she was single<\/a>. She later moved on with her current partner, Justin May<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n Ronnie, for his part, dated Jen Harley<\/strong><\/a> on and off from 2017 to 2019, with the couple welcoming daughter Ariana<\/a> in 2018. Throughout their rocky romance<\/a>, the pair were involved in a series of physical altercations<\/a> with each other, including Jen\u2019s 2018 arrest for domestic battery and Ronnie\u2019s arrest for domestic violence<\/a> one year later. The MTV star moved on with Saffire Matos<\/strong><\/a> in 2020 but the twosome called it quits two years later.<\/p>\n In 2018, the original Jersey Shore<\/em> cast members got back together for a new spinoff series titled Jersey Shore Family Vacation<\/em>. Sammi was the only one who didn\u2019t sign back on<\/a> for the new reality show.<\/p>\n \u201cI am at a completely different place in my life right now focusing on my businesses and relationship,\u201d the Sweetheart Styles founder explained at the time. \u201cI am not the same person as I was when I was 22. At 31, I am currently extremely happy in every aspect of my life and want to avoid potentially TOXIC SITUATIONS.\u201d<\/p>\n Four years later, Sammi revealed that she was returning to the MTV franchise<\/a>. \u201cOK, I can finally say\u2026 I\u2019m backkk! \u263a\ufe0f,\u201d she captioned a selfie from the set.<\/p>\n Ronnie, for his part, took a hiatus from the show<\/a> in May 2021 to \u201cseek medical treatment for mental health issues.\u201d Us<\/em> confirmed the prior month that the Celebrity Fear Factor<\/em> alum was arrested for domestic violence<\/a> again in Los Angeles and later released on $100,000 bond<\/a>. Ronnie and Saffire broke their silence on the incident<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cRonnie and I are fine,\u201d the Florida native wrote in an Instagram Story at the time. \u201cThere is a lot of misleading information floating around out there. With anybody who reached out with concern I appreciate it with all my heart, but everything that\u2019s being portrayed out there are not facts.
