Nicole Kidman<\/a> in erotic thriller ‘Babygirl’ – has admitted he was overweight as a child before slimming down in his late teens before launching his acting career and he doesn’t feel comfortable with the “objectification” which comes with being a screen star.<\/p>\nWhen asked how he comfortable he feels with “objectification”, he told The Independent newspaper: “Not very. That was a very quick answer. <\/p>\n
“I mean, I\u2019ll take it with the right filmmaker. I\u2019m not really afraid of showing my body and stuff. I was raised to, you know, \u2018love yourself, love your body, be proud of it\u2019.”<\/p>\n
He went on to add: “But I was a really chubby boy, right? And I didn\u2019t shed that until I was in my late teens. So I\u2019ve always got that in my mind, and I don\u2019t think that ever leaves you … <\/p>\n
\n“And it feels kind of strange to me, because it\u2019s not something I\u2019ve been particularly used to … \u2018being desired\u2019 … <\/p>\n
\n“I\u2019m happy to lean into it for the right film, but it\u2019s not something I\u2019m comfortable with.”<\/p>\n
\nHarris has appeared in films such as ‘The King’s Man’, ‘Triangle of Sadness’, ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’ and ‘Blitz’, and he’s now receiving acclaim for his role in ‘Babygirl’ which is an awards season favourite with Harris already landing the Virtuoso Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival for his performance.<\/p>\n
\nIn the film, Kidman, 57, stars as chief executive Romy, who is married to Jacob (Antonio Banderas) but becomes tangled up in an intense affair with her intern Samuel (Harris). <\/p>\n
\nThe actress previously admitted the steamy subject matter was a big reason why she signed on because it made the film seen \u201cexciting and bold\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nWhen asked whether the sexual themes made her reluctant to appear in the movie during an appearance on \u2018The Graham Norton Show\u2019, Kidman said: \u201cNot at all. I loved the script, I love supporting women in the industry, and it was just really good. It is exciting and bold, and I am always looking to push out of my comfort zone.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nThe \u2018Eyes Wide Shut\u2019 star described the movie as \u201cWeird, but in a good way\u201d, and said she was initially drawn to the project due to \u201cthe voice of the female\u201d being central to its themes and plot. <\/p>\n
\nShe explained: \u201cThe thing that attracted me to the film is that it\u2019s in the voice of the female. A lot of films in this genre we saw in the \u201890s came from the male view, but this is twisted around and told though the lens of a woman.”<\/p>\n
