Steve Bannon<\/strong>, former advisor to President-elect Donald Trump<\/strong> and a podcaster who calls his right-wing audience<\/a> on \u201cWar Room\u201d his \u201carmy of the awakened,\u201d is determined<\/a> to get billionaire and new Trump ally<\/a> Elon Musk<\/strong> far away from the White House.<\/p>\n In an interview<\/a> with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera<\/em>, Bannon said that he\u2019ll get it done before the president-elect takes office in just over a week. \u201cI will get Elon Musk kicked out by the time he\u2019s inaugurated,\u201d Bannon told the outlet. \u201cHe won\u2019t have a blue pass with full access to the White House. He\u2019ll be like everyone else.\u201d<\/p>\n Bannon did not respond to an email from Vanity Fair<\/em> asking how he plans to oust Musk.<\/p>\n The pair have been dueling<\/a> over what the future of the Make America Great Again strategy ought to look like\u2014and who should be let into that movement\u2019s ranks and the country\u2019s borders. Bannon, and some other staunchly anti-immigration MAGA talking heads<\/a> like Laura Loomer<\/strong>, are against the highly coveted H-1B visa program\u2014which allows employers to hire foreign workers \u201cin specialty occupations or as fashion models.\u201d Specialty occupations require the visa applicant to have at least a bachelor\u2019s degree or its equivalent, per the Department of Labor. This kind of visa often goes to workers in fields such as math, engineering, and technology.<\/p>\n Enter Musk\u2014the richest man in the world who also happens to be the CEO of multiple companies in these fields, and who himself came to the US as an international student and says<\/a> he worked<\/a> using an H-1B visa. (According to reporting<\/a> from Forbes based on H-1B data from fiscal year 2024, Tesla, which Musk runs, \u201cwas among the leading employers of new foreign-born scientists and engineers.\u201d)<\/p>\n
