Joshua Jackson<\/a> feels “incredibly lucky”, despite losing his home in the Los Angeles wildfires.<\/p>\n

Joshua Jackson feels lucky<\/p>\n

The ‘Doctor Odyssey’ star’s house in Topanga Canyon – which he lived in for the first eight years of his life and then bought as an adult in 2001 – has been destroyed in the devastating blazes and though he is sad to have lost the “beautiful” property, he is thankful that he, four-year-old daughter Juno, and the other people he cares about are safe and well.<\/p>\n

He told Deadline in a statement: \u201cFirst and most importantly, all the people closest to me affected by the fire are ok. My daughter, my family, my neighbours all made it out safely.<\/p>\n

\u201cSadly my beautiful home did not survive the fires. But today, I feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by the people I love.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 46-year-old actor – who has Juno with estranged wife Jodie Turner-Smith<\/a> – was born in Vancouver but lived in Topanga until he was eight, when he returned to Canada following his parents’ divorce.<\/p>\n

\nAnd the ‘Dawson’s Creek’ star previously told how he found it “healing” to buy his childhood home and live there as an adult – particularly because his old bedroom had remained exactly the same.<\/p>\n

\nHe previously told Mr. Porter magazine: \u201cMy father unfortunately was not a good father or a husband and exited the scene, but that house in Topanga was where everything felt simple, so it was a very healing thing for me to do.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cThere was a mural of a dragon on the wall in [my old] room that I couldn\u2019t believe was still there, years later. <\/p>\n

\n“The owner [who sold him the house] said, \u2018I knew it meant a lot to somebody and that they were going to come back for it some day.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\nJoshua also said becoming a father himself has changed his priorities in \u201cevery possible way\u201d.<\/p>\n

\nHe said: It\u2019s 100 per cent changed how I approach my work and my life. That has been made so clear to me in this past year.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cFor me to feel good about what I\u2019m doing day to day, my family has to be the central focus.\u201d<\/p>\n
