Macy Gray<\/strong><\/a> made quite the exit during the UK version of The Masked Singer<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

After the audience voted to save other artists, Gray, 57, who was Toad in the Hole in the show, performed against Bear. The judges ultimately chose to save Bear, sending Gray home \u2014 and leading her to walk off the stage.<\/p>\n

Gray later returned in the Saturday, January 11, episode to unveil her identity and was interviewed by host Joel Dommett<\/strong>. After the episode aired, Dommett, 39, shared a clip of his conversation with Gray. \u201cLol,\u201d he captioned his Instagram<\/a> post.<\/p>\n

Dommett went on to recall the events during an appearance on BBC Radio 2. \u201cThis is why The Masked Singer<\/em> is so good, it doesn\u2019t matter if you\u2019re a good singer or if you\u2019re not, the show doesn\u2019t sit in either camp,\u201d Dommett said during the Sunday, January 12, episode, per the Daily Mail<\/a>.<\/em> \u201cThe case with Macy is she is a legend, she has a recognisable voice and she might as well go because we all know it is her, and they put the other person through because we still don\u2019t know who they are.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dommett claimed that it\u2019s a \u201cwin-win situation\u201d if a contestant is eliminated early because they \u201cget the same money and [they] don\u2019t have to do anything else.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t be vexed when you\u2019re dressed as a toad. In my professional career \u2014 I love Macy, she is incredible, great voice \u2014- but I have never witnessed anything more funny than a 6ft toad storming off,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s the funniest thing I\u2019ve ever seen in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
