Joey Graziadei<\/b><\/a> admitted that his relationship with fianc\u00e9e <\/span>Kelsey Anderson<\/b><\/a> wasn\u2019t always easy when he competed on season 33 of <\/span>Dancing With the Stars<\/span><\/i><\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was difficult at times. I think she probably was open about that with you guys, too,\u201d Joey, 29, said while appearing on the Wednesday, January 8, episode of \u201cThe Squeeze,\u201d<\/a> referencing Kelsey\u2019s appearance on the podcast in November 2024. \u201cIt was never a walk in the park and it\u2019s literally just because of timing. I would have loved \u2014 especially in this important beginning time in our relationship \u2014 I would have loved to have been able to put so much more time into it than I physically could have.\u201d<\/p>\n Joey then compared competing on <\/span>DWTS<\/span><\/i><\/a> to his previous job as a tennis instructor. \u201cThe way I always described it for her and tried to explain it for myself too is it felt like when I was teaching tennis as much as I possibly could. When you\u2019re on court for 40 hours a week and you\u2019re on the entire time,\u201d he said. \u201cYou\u2019re talking to people, you\u2019re giving every single version of yourself. When you go home, the last thing you want to do is be \u2018on\u2019 again.\u201d<\/p>\n While Joey said he didn\u2019t feel like he had to always be \u201con\u201d in their relationship, he said he had to make sure that he was \u201cgiving her attention\u201d and \u201cmaking sure that [he was] there fully.\u201d<\/p>\n Once Joey would get home from DWTS<\/em> rehearsals, he would take a few minutes to \u201cforget what was in [his] head with dancing\u201d so that he could \u201chear all about [Kelsey\u2019s] day.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBut if I came in the door and I wasn\u2019t fully excited, I need to explain why. Like, I was still doing a two-step in my head,\u201d Joey continued. \u201cLike, I didn\u2019t even know where I was at the time. But that was the hardest part initially. You know, everyone\u2019s outside opinion at the beginning, there\u2019s a lot of stuff you can\u2019t control.\u201d<\/p>\n Joey and Kelsey, 26, got engaged during the <\/span>Bachelor<\/span><\/i> season 28 finale<\/span><\/a> in March 2024. Soon after fans watched him get down on one knee, Joey was announced as a competitor on <\/span>DWTS<\/span><\/i> in September 2024. He went on to win the competition alongside partner <\/span>Jenna Johnson<\/b> in November 2024.<\/p>\n Now that Joey\u2019s time on DWTS can come to a close, he and Kelsey can enjoy their quality time as an engaged couple. They have not yet set a date or location for their wedding, though Kelsey recently teased their upcoming wedding plans<\/span><\/a> while speaking to <\/span>People<\/span><\/i><\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWe got engaged so fast, we got engaged in two months. So we want to really take our time still getting to know each other and be really serious about the wedding, and we don\u2019t want it to be a stressful thing,\u201d Kelsey explained of their reasoning for not rushing down the aisle. \u201cWe want to be able to enjoy the process of picking out the things that matter most to us in our wedding.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
