Justin Baldoni<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s experience meeting Britney Spears<\/a><\/strong> on set is being examined thanks to a resurfaced clip.<\/p>\n

During a January 2017 interview with Fuse<\/a>, Baldoni, 40, recalled an awkward moment when he interacted with the pop superstar while she was guest starring on Jane the Virgin.<\/i><\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI know she was a fan of the show,\u201d he recalled. \u201cWe were shooting and then a few of us that weren\u2019t in scenes with her came to watch one of her scenes. Because I had tweeted her and she had tweeted me back, I\u2019d gone up to her [too], so in my mind we were friends, but we weren\u2019t. I went up and I gave her a big hug and I think I scared her.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the moment, Baldoni saw his costars laughing, leaving the actor wondering: \u201cDid I just harass Britney Spears?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe CW\u2019s Jane the Virgin\u00a0was a telenovela-inspired romantic comedy that enthralled fans with its soapy plot twists and love triangles. Created by Jennie Snyder Urman, the Golden Globe-nominated TV show first came on the scene in 2014 and lasted for five seasons before its satisfying conclusion. The series\u2019 cast was led by Gina Rodriguez, Justin [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI was a huge Britney Spears fan in high school. What adolescent boy wasn\u2019t?\u201d he asked. \u201cThe guest star I was most excited to work with was Britney Spears. And then it turned out, I didn\u2019t get to work with her. And there was zero scenes with Rafael and Britney Spears \u2014 probably at her request.\u201d<\/p>\n

Baldoni played Rafael Solano in Jane the Virgin<\/i> for nearly 100 episodes between 2014 and 2019. During season 2, the show welcomed Spears, 43, as a guest star where she played herself<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had tweeted her. I was going to bring a poster from her Live [From] Las Vegas<\/i> tour to set and I didn\u2019t do that because I don\u2019t have one,\u201d Baldoni recalled. \u201cI was joking. But I think she thought I was serious.\u201d<\/p>\n

The resurfaced clip comes as Baldoni finds himself in a legal battle with his It Ends With Us<\/i><\/a> costar Blake Lively<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In December 2024, Lively, 37, sued Baldoni<\/a> for sexual harassment. The lawsuit alleges that there was a meeting conducted to address Lively\u2019s claims that there was a \u201chostile work environment\u201d on set. She also accused the actor of launching a \u201csocial manipulation\u201d campaign against her to \u201cdestroy\u201d her reputation.<\/p>\n
