Rachel Lindsay<\/b><\/a> has broken her silence three days after her divorce from ex-husband <\/span>Bryan Abasolo<\/b><\/a> was finalized, slamming his claims that she chose her career over their marriage.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m divorced, thank you God,\u201d Rachel, 39, said during the Friday, January 10, episode of her \u201cHigher Learning\u201d podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n After explaining that she was \u201ctrying to think about how\u201d to express her feelings, Rachel said the situation was \u201cweird.\u201d She continued, \u201cFrom the moment he finally left the house after being here for 7 months, post-separation, I felt divorced, but for me, I\u2019ll be honest, it\u2019s \u2026 there\u2019s a lot I wanna say.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s so many things that I wanna address. But this is all I\u2019m gonna say right now. There comes a point in a divorce where you don\u2019t just have to be the bigger person,\u201d she told her listeners. \u201cWhen someone is fighting and fighting you in this way and willing to die on every hill and not willing to compromise at all, for whatever reason they have \u2014 and I\u2019ll talk about that later \u2014 you have to, at one point, let go, and just be the bigger person and prioritize what is most important to you.\u201d<\/p>\n Rachel continued, \u201cIs it most important for it to be vengeful? Is it most important to be vindictive? Is it most important to be hateful? Is it most important to just be \u2014 to just like hang on? Or is it most important to just protect your peace of mind and let go? Which, to me, the latter is priceless.\u201d<\/p>\n After noting she is \u201ctrying to move on,\u201d the Texas native said she wants \u201cto start rebuilding\u201d and \u201cmove forward.\u201d She added, \u201cAnd that feels really, really good, that I can start the process of, like, okay, let\u2019s rebuild. And there\u2019s no price on that.\u201d<\/p>\n Rachel went on to admit that it \u201cbothered\u201d her that Bryan, 44, would \u201cplay into certain stereotypes\u201d when talking about their relationship. \u201cSaying things that particularly play into the stereotype of me being an angry Black female,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cThere are certain things that were said to play into the stereotype of me being a career woman that were intentionally done to try to win over the media. And it was really hard to see people run with that narrative,\u201d she said, adding that the claims she \u201cplaced [her] career over a marriage\u201d or \u201cover wanting to have children\u201d couldn\u2019t be \u201cmore false.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThose things are emphatically so not true. And to see people run with that because it\u2019s the low-hanging fruit and it fits a certain stereotype, [was] really hurtful, and I can\u2019t wait to fully talk about those things,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Bryan and Rachel met on season 13 of The Bachelorette<\/em> in 2017, and they went on to get married in 2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n Despite appearing to be one of the franchise\u2019s success stories, Bryan shocked fans when he filed for divorce<\/a> on January 2, 2024. He then issued a statement about the matter hours later.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter more than 4 years of marriage, Rachel and I have made the difficult decision to part ways and start anew. My parents have been married forever and I\u2019m a family man but sometimes loving yourself and your partner means you must let go,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cI wanted you to hear it from the source before the blogs start making up their own reality,\u201d he wrote on Instagram. \u201cPlease respect the spaces of our family and friends as we figure out our next steps.
