Late Drag Race<\/em><\/a> star The Vivienne<\/strong> and ex-husband David Paul Ludford<\/strong> had a whirlwind romance.<\/p>\n

The Vivienne (real name James Lee Williams) met Ludford while on vacation in Gran Canaria, Spain, in 2017. The pair hit it off and began dating shortly after<\/a>. Nearly one year after their vacation rendez-vous, The Vivienne and Ludford got engaged. They tied the knot in 2019.<\/p>\n

After their wedding, The Vivienne and Ludford remained by each other\u2019s sides as they pursued their passions. However, after four years of marriage, the twosome amicably called it quits.<\/p>\n

Two years after their breakup, The Vivienne died at age 32. Police confirmed to Hello!<\/em><\/a> in January 2025 that \u201cthere were no suspicious circumstances\u201d in the drag star\u2019s death<\/a>. A cause of death was not revealed at the time. After learning of his ex\u2019s passing, Ludford paid tribute<\/a> to The Vivienne.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy heart literally sank when I got the call!! \ud83e\udebd\ud83d\udc94\ud83d\ude14My heart is shattered!!! \ud83d\ude2d\ud83d\ude2d,\u201d Ludford wrote via Instagram<\/a> at the time. \u201cNever in a million years did I think I\u2019d ever be writing anything like this about @thevivienne_.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Vivienne and Ludford met while on vacation in Gran Canaria, Spain. Ludford revealed in January 2025 that he and the drag performer \u201cclicked straight away\u201d and knew that they would \u201cbe together\u201d for a long time.<\/p>\n

May 2018<\/h3>\n

After dating for less than a year, The Vivienne and Ludford got engaged. The Vivienne later revealed that they were the one who popped the question while in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

\u201cA year ago today I dropped to my [knee] 550 feet above the Las Vegas strip! @larryedwardslv was the officiator \ud83d\ude02\ud83d\ude02,\u201d they wrote via Instagram<\/a> in May 2019. \u201cYou\u2019re a pain in the arse but I love you more every day! Love you David \u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Vivienne celebrated their first anniversary with Ludford as a married couple with a touching tribute.<\/p>\n

\u201cHappy Anniversary to my beautiful husband David. Can\u2019t believe it\u2019s been a whole year since our fabulous wedding,\u201d they wrote via Instagram<\/a> alongside throwback pics from their nuptials. \u201cYou\u2019ve changed my life, made me so happy and I love you even more now than ever \u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f.\u201d<\/p>\n

January 2022<\/h3>\n

Ludford and The Vivienne took a special trip as a couple back to the place where they first fell in love.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo nice to be away! Back to GC where me and David first met,\u201d the reality star wrote alongside an Instagram selfie<\/a> of the couple at the beach. \u201cMemories on every corner! So lovely! X.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair celebrated buying their first home together.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday we got the keys to our new house!\u201d The Vivienne captioned an Instagram Reel<\/a>. \u201cSo happy for this new chapter Angel @d.ludford !\u201d<\/p>\n

April 2023<\/h3>\n

The Vivienne and Ludford announced that they called it quits after four years of marriage.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs many have noticed, David and I have been apart recently. We have made the decision to part ways after an amazing 5 and a half years,\u201d The Vivienne wrote in a joint April 2023 Facebook statement with Ludford. \u201cWe are still very much friends but sometimes life gets in the way and people grow apart. We wish each other the absolute best and will always be part of each other\u2019s lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ludford penned a touching tribute in honor of The Vivienne following their unexpected death.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe literally went through and did so much together it was like a whirlwind and I wouldn\u2019t have changed the time we spent together for anything In The world!!!\u201d he penned. \u201cI feel like a tit feeling this upset and hurt because we have been fully divorced for just over a year now but we was together 6 year and we loved each other so much and you can\u2019t take away.\u201d<\/p>\n

The wig designer added that he was \u201cso happy\u201d to spend six years with The Vivienne and that they would \u201calways have a place in my heart \ud83d\udc94\ud83d\udc94.\u201d<\/p>\n
