Not all of Glenn Close<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s 2025 Golden Globes<\/a> presentation speech was heard during the live CBS broadcast.<\/p>\n

The actress, 77, was censored during the awards ceremony on Sunday, January 5, while presenting the winner<\/a> for Best Motion Picture \u2013 Drama. \u201cOne of my most treasured possessions is a letter that Katharine Hepburn<\/strong> wrote to me, in which she described what we all do as, \u2018This terrible profession. This terrifying profession. And let\u2019s face it, this delicious way to spend your life,\u2019\u201d she began her speech.<\/p>\n

As she continued, the broadcast briefly cut its audio feed. Footage of Close\u2019s complete speech \u2014 profanity and all \u2014 was later uploaded via the Golden Globes YouTube channel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are so f\u2014ing blessed and lucky, blessed and lucky to be together in this room,\u201d she gushed. \u201cLet\u2019s get to the reason why we\u2019re here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Close proceeded to present the prestigious award to the cast and crew of the historical drama The Brutalis<\/em>t. The film took home a total of three wins<\/a> on Sunday, including Best Director \u2013 Motion Picture for Brady Corbet<\/strong> and Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture \u2013 Drama for Adrien Brody<\/strong>. Emilia P\u00e9rez<\/em> scored the most wins of any nominated film on Sunday with a total of four.<\/p>\n

Close, for her part, was not nominated at this year\u2019s Golden Globes. Her most recent nod came in 2021 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture in Hillbilly Elegy<\/em>. She has earned three Golden Globe trophies over the years for her performances in projects such as The Lion in Winter<\/em>, Damages<\/em> and The Wife<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Just as Close quoted a letter she received in her presentation speech, she looked like a letter on the red carpet in a black Balmain dress with sequined embroidery reminiscent of handwritten notes. She completed her look with matching black opera gloves, black heels and a small clutch.<\/p>\n

Close posed with several celebrities inside the event, including Viola Davis<\/strong> and Elton John<\/strong>. She even had an Air Force One<\/em> reunion with Harrison Ford<\/strong> by sitting next to the actor during the show. She famously portrayed the vice president to Ford\u2019s President James Marshall in the 1997 action thriller.<\/p>\n
