Ariana Grande<\/strong><\/a> might not be singing \u201cthank u next\u201d to these friends! The pop star jokingly thanked some cosmetic procedures during a recent acceptance speech at the 2025 Palm Springs International Film Festival.<\/p>\n \u201cYou don\u2019t know how much it means to me,\u201d Ariana, 31, told the crowd while accepting the Rising Star award at the festival on January 3. \u201cI\u2019ve been performing since I was a child, so I never thought at the age of 31 I would be hearing the words \u2018rising star\u2019 again, so I wanted to start by thanking my two friends \u2013 Botox and Juv\u00e9derm.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued, \u201cI thought I\u2019d be hearing \u2018slightly withering star\u2019 or \u2018drooping star\u2019 by now so thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201c7 Rings\u201d singer went on to thank her \u201cincredible fearless leader, Jon Chu,<\/strong>\u201d who directed <\/a>Wicked,<\/em> before joking about her \u201cfriends\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI learned early on that laughter was one of our greatest escapes, and I remember the infectious impact it had, not only on the people in my life, but how it fed me in return,\u201d Ariana continued, \u201cOver the past 10 years, when I was solely focused on music, I really missed that feeling, so it really does feel like the beginning of a new chapter<\/a>. Though Glinda the Good is full of frivolous humor and witty punchlines, comedy is just another way of telling the truth. She has an innate ability to make light out of darkness and bring levity wherever she goes, even when there\u2019s pain.\u201d<\/p>\n The Scream Queens<\/em> alum added that she was \u201cso grateful to have lived in\u201d the role of Glinda and said that had \u201clearned so much from her over these last three years.\u201d<\/p>\n After she accepted the award, Ariana chatted with Entertainment Tonight<\/em><\/a> backstage and clarified that she hadn\u2019t had any cosmetic procedures lately and was \u201cstill clean\u201d but said that when she started \u201cgoing again,\u201d she would let people know.<\/p>\n The \u201cBang Bang\u201d artist had heartfelt reasons behind wanting to make sure people knew she was joking about getting Botox and Juv\u00e9derm injections.<\/p>\n \u201cI really want to be transparent,\u201d Ariana told the outlet. \u201cAs a beauty founder, as the founder of R.E.M. Beauty, I think it\u2019s important to have transparency, but I love it and I support it.\u201d<\/p>\n During a September 2023 interview with Vogue<\/em><\/a>, Ariana admitted that she used to have a \u201cton\u201d of lip filler and Botox, but stopped getting the cosmetic procedure done in 2018<\/a>. She confessed that eventually it just \u201cfelt like too much.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBeing exposed to so many voices at a young age, and especially when people have things to say about your appearance at a young age, it\u2019s really hard to know what\u2019s worth hearing or not,\u201d the former Sam & Cat<\/em> star explained at the time. \u201cWhen you\u2019re 17, you don\u2019t really know that yet. Over the years, I used makeup as a disguise or something to hide behind with more and more hair and more, thicker eyeliner \u2014 that can be so beautiful at times and I still do have love for it and appreciation for it.\u201d<\/p>\n Ariana added, \u201cBut I think as I get older, I don\u2019t love that being the intention behind it anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
