\nThe late Osmonds singer\u2019s family announced on Thursday (02.01.25) he died peacefully on New Year\u2019s Day surrounded by his wife and children \u2013 and hours after the news broke, officials at the Hollywood Walk of Fame told how they would be paying tribute to the performer.<\/p>\n
\nThey said on the official Walk of Fame feed on X on Thursday: \u201cMemorial flowers for Walk of Famer Wayne<\/p>\n
\nOsmond will be placed on The Osmonds star today (02.01.25) at 3pm. (Their star) is located at 7080 Hollywood Blvd. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe Hollywood community extends its sympathy to the Osmond Family. \u201cFlowers placed by Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and Hollywood Historic Trust.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe Osmonds received their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on August 7, 2003.<\/p>\n
\nAlong with the floral tribute, fans of Wayne\u2019s have flooded social media with their memories of the star and condolences to his family.<\/p>\n
\nOne said on X: \u201cSo many happy memories of my teenage years of this family and of Wayne Osmond. R.I.P Wayne.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAnother Osmonds fan added: \u201cRest In Peace Wayne Osmond. One of my mum\u2019s favourite groups when she was younger \u2013 from my mother I got to listen to the wonderful music that the Osmonds did.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nYet another of the band\u2019s fans said: \u201cThis one hits hard as they were a fantastic group. Thoughts and condolences are with the Entire Osmond family at this sad time.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBorn in 1951 and raised in Ogden, Utah, Wayne teamed up with his brothers to form a barbershop quartet.<\/p>\n
\nThe group then expanded to include their brothers Alan, Merrill, Jay, Donny, and Jimmy.<\/p>\n
\nHe survived cancer and battled cognitive and hearing impairments from childhood.<\/p>\n
\nWayne told \u2018Coping\u2019 magazine how his health went downhill while touring with his brothers in 1994: \u201cOne day when I was working in Branson, I noticed I couldn\u2019t play my saxophone anymore because my head would start throbbing.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd my knees would fall out from under me when I was on stage. This all began happening within a week.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nWayne was then diagnosed with ependymoma cancer and endured a 17-hour surgery to remove a tumour, followed by weeks of radiation therapy before he was allowed to return to the stage.<\/p>\n
