Yolanda Sald\u00edvar<\/strong> is seeking parole in 2025 after she was convicted of murdering singer Selena Quintanilla-P\u00e9rez<\/strong> after 30 years in prison.<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/em> confirmed on Monday, December 30, that Sald\u00edvar, 64, is currently in the parole review process. Her eligibility date is March 30, 2025. Sald\u00edvar is also eligible for inmate visitation, per online records viewed by Us<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The New York Post<\/em><\/a> reported on Sunday, December 29, that Sald\u00edvar\u2019s prison record is currently in good standing.<\/p>\n

Selena was shot by Sald\u00edvar in March 1995 at a motel in Corpus Christi, Texas. While paramedics tried to revive her, Selena died of hypovolemic shock<\/a> at Corpus Christi Memorial Hospital. She was 23 years old. Selena was survived by her family and her husband, Christopher P\u00e9rez<\/strong>, who was also the lead guitarist in her band, Selena y Los Dinos.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tIt\u2019s been 25 years since Selena Quintanilla was shot and killed at the age of 23 by her fan club president and former boutique manager, Yolanda Sald\u00edvar, in March 1995. Quintanilla was born on April 16, 1971, to Abraham Quintanilla Jr. and Marcella Quintanilla in Lake Jackson, Texas. Her father was the frontman of a [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sald\u00edvar, who was the Tejano singer\u2019s former fan club president and boutique manager, was arraigned and pleaded not guilty. She previously claimed that the shooting was accidental and that she had intended to commit suicide.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey made me out to be a monster, and I just want to say, I did not kill Selena,\u201d Sald\u00edvar claimed in an interview with 20\/20<\/em><\/a> in 1995. \u201cIt was an accident, and my conscience is clear.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sald\u00edvar was found guilty by a jury of first-degree murder in October 1995. She was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 30 years behind bars. Sald\u00edvar has been serving her sentence at the Patrick O\u2019Daniel facility in Texas.<\/p>\n
