Matthew Gaudreau and wife Madeline Gaudreau<\/strong>\u2019s son has arrived four months after the ice hockey player\u2019s tragic death alongside his brother, Johnny Gaudreau. Madeline announced the birth of their first child<\/a> via Instagram in December 2024, leading many to show their support online.\n<\/p>\n

Who Is Matthew Gaudreau\u2019s Wife Madeline?<\/h2>\n

Matthew, who played hockey in the ECHL for the Worcester Railers and in the AHL for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, married Madeline in 2021. Following Matthew and Johnny\u2019s deaths in August 2024, Madeline paid tribute to the brothers on Instagram.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was always Matty & John. I can\u2019t even put into words the bond these two had and right now I don\u2019t have the strength. They were each others biggest cheerleaders,\u201d she wrote on September 1, 2024. \u201cMatt looked up to John in so many ways but the most important was the father he was to Noa & Johnny. I find extreme comfort knowing they are together, as they always were. I know they are still messing with each other up there and will continue to look over their families.\u201d<\/p>\n

Madeline Gaudreau Welcomes 1st Child 4 Months After Matthew\u2019s Death<\/h2>\n

Madeline and Matthew announced on June 22, 2024, that they were expecting their first child together. The sweet black and white announcement photo shared by Madeline on Instagram showed the couple facing away from the camera in matching dark T-shirts and jeans. They held hands and looked at each other lovingly as a strip of ultrasound photos hung out of Madeline\u2019s back pocket.<\/p>\n

\u201cBaby Gaudreau Arriving in December,\u201d she captioned the post.<\/p>\n

Madeline announced their son\u2019s arrival with another photo<\/a> on December 29, 2024. The adorable snap showed her holding their son\u2019s hand as the baby boy, who wore a blue onesie, rested beside a wooden sign that read, \u201cHe\u2019s here.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTripp Matthew,\u201d she wrote, revealing the infant\u2019s name. \u201cMommy & Daddy\u2019s world.\u201d<\/p>\n

The comments of the post were filled with love and support from friends, family and fans.<\/p>\n

Johnny Gaudreau\u2019s Wife Meredith Also Pregnant, Expecting Baby No. 3<\/h2>\n

After Johnny and Matthew died, Johnny\u2019s wife, Meredith Gaudreau<\/strong>, announced at their joint funeral in September 2024 that she was pregnant with their third child<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re actually a family of five. I\u2019m in my ninth week of pregnancy with our third baby. A total surprise, but again, John was beaming and so excited,\u201d she said in her eulogy, according to Us Weekly<\/em>. \u201cI was so nervous because this was, again, a total surprise. But his reaction was just immediately kissing me and hugging me even though I was driving the car. After the initial excitement sank in, every time he looked at me, he would say, \u2018You\u2019re nuts, you know that? Three kids?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Madeline offered her support to Meredith in her September 1 Instagram tribute to the brothers.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo Meredith \u2014 we will forever share this extreme heartbreak and terrible bond \u2026 however, the boys couldn\u2019t have picked stronger women as their wives and mothers of their children. We will carry each other through every season \u2026 as the boys would do for each other. They blessed us with children \u2026 through them we will always have a part of them earth side with us forever,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

What Happened to Matthew and Johnny Gaudreau?<\/h2>\n

Matthew and Johnny died on August 29, 2024, after they were hit by an alleged drunk driver while riding bikes around their neighborhood in New Jersey. The brothers were supposed to attend their sister\u2019s wedding the following day.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast night we lost two husbands, two fathers, two sons, two brothers, two sons and brothers in law, two nephews, two cousins, two family members, two teammates, two friends but truly two amazing humans,\u201d their family shared in a statement at the time. \u201cWe want to let everyone know we are receiving your messages of love and support and we appreciate your continued thoughts and prayers. We ask for your continued respect and privacy during this very difficult period of grief.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
