\t\t<\/p>\n James Gunn<\/strong><\/a> is sharing more information about The Batman<\/strong><\/a><\/em> sequel getting delayed.<\/p>\n The sequel to director Matt Reeves<\/strong><\/a>\u2018 2022 blockbuster starring Robert Pattinson<\/strong><\/a> was expected to premiere in theaters on October 2, 2026, but it has now been revealed that the movie won\u2019t hit theaters until October 1, 2027<\/a>.<\/p>\n Following the news, James<\/strong> \u2013 who is the CEO of DC Studios \u2013 took to Threads<\/a> to explain why the theatrical release of The Batman II has been delayed.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u201cThe only reason for the delay is there isn\u2019t a full script (those of you who follow me here probably know that already),\u201d James<\/strong> wrote. \u201cMatt is committed to making the best film he possibly can, and no one can accurately guess exactly how long a script will take to write.\u201d<\/p>\n He added, \u201cOnce there is a finished script, there is around two years for pre-production, shooting and post-production on big films.\u201d<\/p>\n In a follow-up post, James<\/strong> pointed out, \u201cTo be fair, a 5 year gap or more is fairly common in sequels. 7 years between Alien<\/em> and Aliens<\/em>. 14 years between Incredibles<\/em>. 7 years between the first two Terminators<\/em>. 13 years between Avatars<\/em>. 36 years between Top Guns<\/em>.
