Jennifer Lopez<\/strong><\/a> almost dropped big bucks to get her dream performer for her and Alex Rodriguez<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s wedding.<\/p>\n

Celebrity wedding planner Marcy Blum<\/strong> opened up about working on the exes\u2019 nuptials before their eventual split on the Thursday, December 26, episode of \u201cThe Skinny Confidential Him & Her\u201d podcast<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019ll tell you a story because I never signed an NDA,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n

According to Blum, her clients are often shocked by \u201cthe price of headliners,\u201d and Lopez, 55, and Rodriguez, 49, were no exception. \u201cWe were working with J.Lo and A-Rod before they broke up. And we\u2019re going through a list of musicians and she goes, \u2018What about Bruno Mars<\/strong><\/a>?\u2019\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n

Having recently worked with Mars, 39, at the time, Blum surprised Lopez with the \u201cTreasure\u201d singer\u2019s hefty fee. \u201cI said, \u2018I just worked with him and he\u2019s $5 [million],\u2019\u201d she revealed. \u201c[Jennifer said], \u2018Don\u2019t be ridiculous!\u2019 I said, \u2018I\u2019m telling you, $5 million plus rider.\u2019 The night [of the wedding], you get 45 minutes, you get an hour.\u201d<\/p>\n

On March 12, 2021, rumors surfaced that she and Alex Rodriguez had ended their relationship, calling off their engagement after two years. Blum didn\u2019t reveal whether Lopez agreed to Mars\u2019 price point, but the wedding eventually fell through after she and Rodriguez ended their engagement<\/a> in April 2021.<\/p>\n

When it comes to working with high-profile performers for events, Blum said she and her team \u201cdon\u2019t give them an excuse to be obnoxious\u201d by catering to their needs. \u201cWe\u2019re like, \u2018Here we go, and here\u2019s someone who\u2019s gonna handhold you and da da da,\u2019\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Blum said it\u2019s also not normal to have a celebrity such as Mars as the \u201cregular entertainment\u201d of the event. \u201cNo one wants to do their first dance, or maybe they do but they shouldn\u2019t, to Coldplay or something. That\u2019s just dumb,\u201d she quipped. \u201cWhat you want is you want a band-band and maybe a DJ, and then you want 45 minutes of Chris Martin<\/strong> or Elton John<\/strong> or whomever you want. Because otherwise, it\u2019s all about them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lopez and Rodriguez got engaged<\/a> after two years of dating in March 2019. News broke that the two had called it quits<\/a> in March 2021, but the pair did not confirm their split until the following month.<\/p>\n
