The \u2018Ray\u2019 actor, 55, was revealed to be receiving treatment for an unspecified issue by his daughter and \u2018Beat Shazam\u2019 co-host Corinne Foxx, 29, who said on Wednesday 12 April her dad was in \u201crecovery\u201d following the scare. <\/p>\n

A source has now told People he is continuing to \u201csteadily\u201d improve\u201d.<\/p>\n

A insider also told the outlet the set of Jamie\u2019s new film \u2018Back in Action\u2019 was totally \u201cshut down\u201d on Wednesday due to Jamie\u2019s absence, but they added filming resumed a day later using a stand=in for Jamie on set.<\/p>\n

Corinne said on Instagram in a message \u201cfrom the Foxx family\u201d: \u201cWe wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx<\/a>, experienced a medical complication yesterday. <\/p>\n

\n\u201cLuckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cWe know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nSources with \u201cdirect knowledge\u201d of the situation have also told TMZ that Jamie was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning in a \u201cserious enough\u201d condition that members of his family travelled to be by his side.<\/p>\n
