Dolly Parton will enjoy her food over Christmas<\/p>\n
The 78-year-old singer adores spending the holiday season with her loved ones and while they spend most of December feasting, she\u2019s ready to stop overindulging by the end of the period.<\/p>\n
She told Closer magazine: \u201cWe all start eating around Thanksgiving and we eat until the first of January, and that\u2019s when we all go on our diets. You know how that goes?<\/p>\n
\u201cSo you think, \u2018Well, I\u2019m not going to even think about dieting now. I\u2019m just going to eat everything I want to.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cYou stretch your clothes out! But you\u2019re ready for a diet after the first of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe \u2018Jolene\u2019 hitmaker \u2013 who is married to Carl Dean – goes \u201call-out\u201d for Christmas with her extended family.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cI go all-out for Christmas. My family call me Granny Claus, Dolly Claus, or Gigi Claus, it just depends on the different generations.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019ve been doing that since I had my younger brothers and sisters.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThey\u2019ve now got children and now their children have children, so I\u2019ve just been at it for years. Christmas is a big thing for us.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWe all sing Christmas songs around the piano \u2013 all the traditional ones like \u2018O Little Town of Bethlehem\u2019 and \u2018Silent Night\u2019<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBut then we\u2019ve got to have \u2018Rudolph\u2019 and all of the fun things, \u2018Santa Claus is Coming to Town\u2019, all of that.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAnd when it comes to their Christmas Day meal, Dolly serves up something for everyone on 25 December, with the food accompanied by her own range of wines.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cWe have turkey and ham, black eyed peas and cornbread dressing, and then we have lots of mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and that sort of thing.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cMy wine is great because it goes with different things.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd if you like good food and good wine, I think it all goes together just like fashion.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWe really are big on having lots of great things for all the holidays.\u201d<\/p>\n
