Southern Hospitality<\/em><\/a> stars Joe Bradley<\/strong> and Maddi Reese<\/strong> gave Us a complete breakdown of their relationship timeline \u2014 before their shotgun wedding in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess around February we started hanging out,\u201d Joe exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> on December 18, while promoting season 3 of Southern Hospitality<\/em>, which premieres on Thursday, January 2<\/a>. \u201cI have not been with anyone or kissed anyone since last winter around February.\u201d<\/p>\n

The reality star revealed that he and Maddi \u201cstarted being boyfriend and girlfriend in the middle of April,\u201d which was \u201ca little bit before the cameras came around.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joe gushed, \u201cWe\u2019re very happy right now.\u201d He added that Bravo fans will see the couple\u2019s \u201clove story kind of unfold\u201d on the upcoming season, since it was \u201cpretty fresh\u201d when the cameras were rolling.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe just started dating weeks before we started filming, so I feel like we\u2019re figuring it all out,\u201d Maddi added. She confessed, \u201cI am still uneasy about getting into another relationship or dating or even putting myself out there, so I just feel like it\u2019s going to be really interesting watching that play out and everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

That uneasiness, however, didn\u2019t appear to put a damper on Maddi and Joe\u2019s surprise plan to get married in Las Vegas. In fact, their shotgun wedding, which fans saw in the trailer<\/a> that dropped last month, will be a big part of this season\u2019s story line.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like you\u2019re going to have to tune in to find out [if it\u2019s real],\u201d Maddi teased<\/a> during a joint interview with Joe. \u201cI feel like you watch our whole journey from [when] we just started dating to talking about getting serious and taking that kind of big next step. You\u2019ll see that play out and I\u2019m excited because we\u2019re in Vegas when it happens, and that trip is awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joe called the nuptials \u2014 which were officiated by an Elvis impersonator \u2014 an \u201cepic moment\u201d on the show. He played coy about whether fans should start referring to them as husband and wife, but said Maddi is \u201c100 percent\u201d his long-term partner.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Elvis knew that too in the white cowboy hat and I think everyone around us finally feels that and knows that,\u201d he explained. \u201cThis summer you\u2019ll kind of see who actually believes that [from] the start.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joe insisted that for him, the Vegas ceremony was \u201cserious\u201d because he \u201cwanted to show my love for her and prove all the haters wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although Joe and Maddi are happy in their relationship, they confessed that getting hitched in Sin City was a spur of the moment decision. \u201cI think everything in our life is spur of the moment, so it\u2019s pretty on brand for us,\u201d Joe told Us<\/em>. \u201cWe\u2019re spontaneous crazy people in the best way possible, but it felt right.\u201d<\/p>\n

He teased, \u201cI definitely had a lot of a\u2013 kissing to do over Thanksgiving at her house\u201d after they spontaneously said \u201cI do\u201d without either family in attendance.<\/p>\n

Despite raising some eyebrows for their choices, Joe and Maddi both admitted their romance was a long time coming.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really have had feelings for her for years, but we were also best friends,\u201d Joe recalled. \u201cOne day I would wake up and be like, \u2018I have a chance with a girl in my dreams\u2019 and the next day I\u2019ll be like, \u2018This will never happen.\u2019 And most of our friends told me it would never happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

His mom, however, was always in his \u201ccorner\u201d reminding him, \u201c\u2018That\u2019s the one. Don\u2019t be an idiot. That\u2019s your long term. That\u2019s a long game, Joe.\u2019 And I just, it sounds cheesy, but I didn\u2019t give up on it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Maddi noted that for her, \u201cTiming was everything.\u201d She had recently split from boyfriend Trevor Stokes<\/strong><\/a>, which fans saw unfold during season 2 of Southern Hospitality<\/em>, so she had to \u201csit with that for a little bit\u201d before jumping into another relationship.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always had feelings for Joe, but I just didn\u2019t know if it was past a friendship or not,\u201d she told Us<\/em>, explaining that it was \u201cvery scary\u201d for her to take that leap of faith. \u201cIt was definitely worth taking that risk.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked if Maddi ended up making the \u201cfirst move\u201d this time around, she teased, \u201cI feel like Joe made a lot of [moves].\u201d<\/p>\n

Joe chimed in, \u201cI made the first 300 moves and then it was to the point where I had to give her time and space to make that safe decision, that leap of faith on our own. But I was ready for it.\u201d<\/p>\n
