Mickey Rourke<\/strong><\/a> seemingly criticized a portrayal of Bob Dylan<\/strong> just days before Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet<\/a><\/strong> takes on the rock legend.<\/p>\n

\u201cBob Dylan was one of the most interesting people i\u2019ve ever met,\u201d Rourke, 72, wrote via Instagram<\/a> on Monday, December 23 with a photo of the music icon. \u201cBut whoever was the actor who played Bob Dylan in \u2018Portrain Bob Dylan\u2019 the actor really sucked. Mickey,Dima & kids wuffwuffwuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Chalamet was not named, Rourke\u2019s candid post comes days before the young actor\u2019s new movie, A Complete Unknown<\/i><\/a>, is released on Christmas Day.<\/p>\n

In the film, Chalamet, 28, portrays Dylan, now 83, from the beginning of his career in 1960s New York to his famous electric guitar performance of \u201cLike a Rolling Stone\u201d at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tFrom Jeremy Allen White\u2019s upcoming Bruce Springsteen film, to Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet showing off his Bob Dylan-like vocals in A Complete Unknown, music biopics seem to be everywhere. Yet, these flicks aren\u2019t a new phenomenon. Films centered around the lives of music icons have been captivating audiences for decades, from 1980\u2019s Coal Miner\u2019s Daughter, about the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

One person who appeared more than excited about the casting and movie was Dylan himself.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a movie about me opening soon called A Complete Unknown<\/i> (what a title!). Timothee Chalamet is starring in the lead role,\u201d Dylan wrote via X<\/a> on December 4. \u201cTimmy\u2019s a brilliant actor so I\u2019m sure he\u2019s going to be completely believable as me. Or a younger me. Or some other me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dylan explained that the film is taken from Elijah Wald<\/strong>\u2019s Dylan Goes Electric<\/i> \u2014 a book that came out in 2015.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a fantastic retelling of events from the early \u201860s that led up to the fiasco at Newport,\u201d he added. \u201cAfter you\u2019ve seen the movie, read the book.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chalamet later expressed his gratitude<\/a> for Dylan\u2019s post by replying, \u201cFloored. I am so grateful. Thank you Bob.\u201d<\/p>\n

As part of the role, Chalamet enlisted the help of a vocal coach<\/a> before he sang and played guitar live on set. When speaking to Apple Music<\/a> in November, the actor called the role \u201cthe most unique challenge I\u2019ve taken on.\u201d<\/p>\n

While it\u2019s unclear what Dylan thinks of Rourke\u2019s latest Instagram post, he previously expressed awe at his work on the big screen.<\/p>\n

In his memoir titled Chronicles, Volume One<\/i>, Dylan recalled seeing Rourke\u2019s performance in Homeboy<\/i> and shared how it made such an impact on his album Oh Mercy<\/i>.<\/p>\n
